HELP Dealership brake cost

Just got a call from my dealership tell me it would cost $1700 for all 4 brakes to be replaced

They recommend replacing the rotors to for a $3000 job for everything.


I get it’s a sports car but this is insane to me.

Can anyone point me in the direction to get the parts for cheaper? Are these a simple install any mechanic can actually do?

Do you have Brembo's? These are about the easiest to do, you don't even need to remove the calipers. The rotors are probably fine.
Find another shop, that is a horrible price. Get the pads from k8stringerstore and do them yourself.

Recently went through the same thing. I ended up getting EBC Red Stuff pads with EBC plain rotors. The EBC hardware cost me less than getting the stock hardware from the dealer would have been.

The only challenge was getting the rotors off, changing the pads is very easy. There are no special tools needed, any mechanic should be able to do it.

Who goes to the dealer for brakes?

Just about ANY other shop will be better for that specific task

Oh yeah for context I took it in for state inspection lol. My brakes feel fine I figured it was gonna just be a quick in an out thing
