Hello Canadian newbie here had a couple questions

Hi ive been interested in these cars for a couple years now, ive previously owned a few trucks an infiniti g35 and g35x and a volvo s80 v8. I am in a position where im now seriously looking at a newer car, some questions I had about Canadian models.

I was wondering if there were any indigo editions or a gts variant sold in canada?
I also was wondering if the 2018 and 2019 models had a mechanical lsd in the rear?
Brochures ive found say 2020+ does on the higher trim level but nothing on the 18 and 19.
I'll do some more forum searching tonight but any knowledge of the Canadian models would be lovely!

Hello, does your family own Bahr Saddlery in Hornby, Ontario?

Excellent choice on that Yamaha V8 engine in that Volvo. To answer your Stinger Qs, we did not get Indigo or GTS editions for Canada. We also only get standard AWD.

We have a viscous LSD. Target 2020 and up and choose the top-line GT Limited, since not all models will have the LSD (it goes by VIN). The Neon Orange colour was unique and offered only in 2021. There is also a unique 2019 Anniversary Edition model that comes only in Ghost Grey. For 2022 and 2023 models, it gets a 3hp bump, more tech features like a blind spot broadcast which I think is an excellent feature, nicer rear diffuser, uglier stock wheels, and larger infotainment.

Just a warning that parts and fluids are unreasonably expensive for these cars, the twin turbo V6 engine gets leaks between the oil filter housing and oil cooler, as well as rear main seal, and the dealer service experience is terrible nationwide (the cars have evolved, but their retail service quality has not grown in lockstep with the products).

Welcome to the forum, your interest in the Stinger makes sense based on some of the platforms you have had in the past.

The Stinger is a gem of a car for Kia and is such a great choice as a daily driver GT that serves multiple purposes especially with the hatch.

Man those volvos used to scoot back in the day, I remember trying to keep up with my buddy who had one when I was first entering the scene and I got smoked.

Thank you very much for the information and unless were a long lost branch of the family out in Saskatchewan I dont know of anyone else who shares my last name out there. Thank you for the head up on the leaks and main seal, ill have to look into that abit more and I assume fluids can just be done at home and dont need anything special to update the computer or am I mistaken?
