Spoke with Terry about it, working on my launching and 0-60 times. Apparently on the v32 update 3rd gear boost drop is “launch” if you are doing brake boosting but doesn’t affect 3rd gear boost.

Anyone try this yet? Any success with launching? Is 3rd gear affected?

I attached pictures of the update file and boost drop section on JB4

I just installed the update yesterday, but haven't tried launching yet. I do have the Lozic TCU tune. If I understood correctly this update is for launching with the brake boost switch or TCU tune. After the install I noticed the car being much more responsive. Also would I need this with AWD?

I tried the 4 psi boost drop in “3rd gear” as Terry recommended, I started at 4psi and honestly didn’t notice a difference in launch. All my wheels still spun at 2500 psi just like before. Maybe I’ll try 6psi and see if that’ll tame her down a bit more

I hope that works for you. Since I downloaded the update my throttle response is much better. The only downside is when I hit about 50% throttle it feels like Car kicks down a gear, but stays in the same gear. Not sure what's happening. I do have a BMS pedal tuner. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

So I just downloaded, and will install tomorrow. Question: so under my current boost reduction settings for 1st and second gear, do I leave those, and then just add the 5.9 (as a baseline) to 3rd gear?

That’s what Terry told me over email. Since no one used 3rd gear boost drop he made that launch boost drop. Ive had mine set to 5psi for a few days and honestly haven’t noticed a difference. I’m beginning to wonder if it’s for brake boosting only and not brake snip like I have with my Lozic TCU..

Interesting. Ok well I have the BMS TCU tune with break boost. I should be able to do a few pulls from a dig this weekend. So are you launching at 2500 RPM? I really haven’t played much with the launch since I got the TCU tune.

Yea at 2500 rpm is when my wheels first start to spin. I launch the second I hear the tire chirp and it launches me into oblivion usually. I’ve heard some people like to launch around 2200-2300 RPM range, which I have yet to try.

With my lozic TCU, I turn off TC/SC in sport gear. The OEM launch control is still there and revs to about 2250 then decreases to 2150, the Lozic TCU takes over and runs it up again. On the OEM I would never have a boosted launch, there was always that split second lag. Not anymore with Lozic.

im really considering switching to the BMS TCU instead, but just have so much spent into the Lozic TCU that I’m stubbornly ganna wait and get my money out of it.

Lozic has two different launches. Since you can launch as high as 2500rpm I assume you're on non "like brake snip' ver. That ver holds throttle not fully open and build boost slower. No reason to shave the boost building even slower with v32

This is my Lozic setup, I took a screenshot on the receipt page of my purchase.

I put yes to “like brake snip_start torque limit is always off.”

I actually like your idea of ditching the boost reduction all together and just trying to time my launches better!

My one regret was getting the TCU early before CPI and BEF since I’d much rather have -10% rather than the -5% shift pattern. Auto shifts at WOT hit 6K+ rpm range and based off my logs, I lose around 4-8 lbs of boost around those levels, which is why I’ve been learning short shifting during my 0-60s.

I am really happy with 5psi off at launch. It's basically the same launching rpm as before but just simply grippier and higher tolerance for releasing the brake too slow. You can give 4-5psi a shot and see how that works.
