Had to Stinger-ize my Genesis G70!

I have seen a Jaguar badge on a Stinger. I think I remember - don't want to - a Ferrari badge on a Stinger. How is this different? Ima twitting you, don't answer if you don't want to.
That's bad and I thought putting Hellcat badges on a V6 Challenger was bad, at least it's the same make/model.

I've gotten some rib-jabbing from another Stinger owner here locally. It doesn't bother me. It's all in good fun. My other Stinger has the "E" front badge and I'm kinda meh on the looks of it. Doesn't really say or stand for anything, regardless of what the aftermarketeers tells us. Like all the other KDM replacements for the KIA emblem, all they do is to obfuscate the brand and confuse most passerbys.

Personally, I just cannot stand the new "KN" logo. Stylistically, it is bland and unimaginative. Pictorially, it lacks any provenance or symbolism. Practically, all those sharp edges do is to snag/tear the wash mitten fabric every time I wash the car. I wanted it GONE! As mentioned above, I'm not a fan of any of the KDM badging, including the "E". Don't really like having no emblem either. So... what da heck do I put on there??

Then I looked over at our '21 G70 sitting in between the two Stingers... hmmm. I've worked on all three cars enough to know they are basically the same design under the sheetmetal. Drivetrain and suspension are basically identical. Chassis electrics share lots of common parts as well. As it was, Stinger shares far more DNA with Genesis than most of the other Kia vehicles. I've always thought Hyundai should've marketed the Stinger under the Genesis brand. So, if Hyundai wouldn't do it... I will. :)

How is this different than slapping on a Jaguar/Maserati/Porsche/etc. badge, you ask? Because doing is to usurp an identity - and pretend to possess content/heritage - Stinger has not.

I quite like the fact that the Genesis wing still quite rightfully proclaims the car's corporate provenance. I cannot think of a more befitting corporate sister car to the G70, in every sense of the term.

You just need to add the G70 wheels to the Stinger like I did. These are my winter rims that I run Blizzaks on. I actually like the wheels much better than the standard gt wheels but they are 18s so I can run a thicker tire. The gunmetal grey color is a nice match with the grey stock paint. Just wish they came in 19s.

I sold the G70 OEM 19's to a Stinger owner.

I agree on the mit-catching when washing. Annoying as hell. I do like the KN more than the older oval Kia badge but I'm not a fan of the E, Lexus K, or anything else Stinger-related, but even the KN is kinda Meh.

I'm not much one for any visual, external, aesthetic mods that stand out from stock. But I am seriously considering shaving the front and rear "KN" badge and not putting anything there.

Doesn't your car say Stinger across on the back? Thought that got changed in 2019? My car is older than yours (2020) just has the large stinger script on the back.

When the Stinger was first released back in 2018 there was many complaints about how the hood vents were fake. Although plenty of cars have fake vents. The newer BMW Supra, plenty of SN95s Mustangs my 89 Trans Am gta I used to have, also had fake vents and fake heat extractors (double whammy) didn't hear many people complaining about them.

I'm sure plenty other cars do as well. I think everybody would rather not have fake stuff on their cars, I get it. The Stinger could definitely use some kinda hood with heat extraction given how hot it gets under there with those turbos. Would've been nice to have a factory hood with this but obviously that never materialized.
I initially thought the fake vents on the Stinger were kind of tacky, until I remembered that for 11 years I drove an '86 Z28 that had washboards on the hood that I could have used on laundry day.

Yeah, that's why I posted the pic of the 89 trans am gta I had, hood looked cool but was all fake. The power bulge hood found on the early 3rd gen Trans Ams and later on the Formula could actually be made functional as a heat extractor though as you could remove the rear piece and it'd be open to the engine.

Canadian models have KIA centered in the back...

Best photo I've got of her backside...

The "Stinger" rear badge on my '23 GT-Line snags wash mitt fabric just as bad as the "KN", if not worse. I removed mine the same time I took off the front KN.

That said, the new microfiber wash mitts I got seem to be a lot less likely to get snagged on sharp emblem edges.

Thanks for the pics and you have a good point about heat extraction. I likely put this question in the wrong spot a few days ago, but it would be great to know if any of these carbon hoods actually assist in extracting heat from the engine bay. Does anyone have an opinion on that? My guess is some venting is better than none but what's the most efficient hood available is a mystery to me. Thanks All!
