• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Greater SF/Bay Area Roll Call

I'm still on the fence.. Almost bought one last weekend, but decided to wait for more info on the GTS / 2020 Stinger. Would really like one with D-AWD. Or may get something like X3M40i/X3M.

count me in as well.
i'm in the San Jose & Santa Clara area too.
Also make it out to Tracy 3 times a month.

There is a NorCal Stinger Owners group on FB that I joined but they're located in Granite Bay, which is Sacramento area (didn't know this at the time). Is there a group for the Bay Area?

I was at Home Depot in Campbell this past weekend and saw another GT2.. if you are here, hello!

Update: car died sooner than expected, picked up a '19 GT1 AWD last weekend.. Haven't had a chance to drive it much - work's been busy.. So far, so good.

I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR WHAT THE ARK EXHAUST SOUNDS LIKE ON YOUR STINGER, I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT BUYING IT.

The Ark was a little too loud and too much drone.
I copied TonkaBob and replaced the Ark mufflers with Flowmaster dBX and it is better.
There is still some drone from 1500~2100, but it is better than the Ark mufflers.
If you make it down to the San Jose area then i'm sure we can meet up and you can hear what is sounds like.

jmf_tracy - doing the eibach stuff yourself? Or getting a shop to do it? How do you like the Pressertech tune?

Where in Santa Clara? I work near 237/101.

I will be doing the Eibach install myself. I hate paying anyone for something I can do myself and I have a hard time trusting people to do it right.
I will probably do this over the Thanksgiving break.
I am still trying to find a good alignment shop, so far I have not felt too comfortable with the ones i have talked to.
Pressertech is the $hit.
Car drives so good and it is quick as well, smooth power as Todd says.
I have not measured it, but i am sure that I am 4 seconds 0 ~ 60

Currently working and living in San Jose near Eastridge Mall and Also near Independence high school.

Sorry, i have no idea.
I guess that is what this thread was for, but nothing ever came of it to my knowledge.

San Francisco proper here. Bought mine in Santa Clara and would recommend steering clear of the dealer and service department there - if you live in SC you probably know which dealer I'm referring to, and I don't want to name them here. Anyway...

Since I live within the city limits and don't have a garage I'm looking for recommendations for reputable shops in the Bay Area that will work on the Stinger. I did all my own work on the Nissan Frontier I traded in but it was lifted and easy to simply slide under to wrench on, not like the Stinger LOL. Just looking to have minor stuff done like replacing sway bars installing subframe collars, and maybe a catback install...nothing too fancy, but I'd still rather have it done correctly the first time by a shop with experience in these types of things and an eye toward "mods" as opposed to simple "repairs" so I'm open to any suggestions and/or recommendations. I've already contacted TrackSpec Autosport in Fremont and was informed they "don't work on those vehicles" so the door is wide open for any other suggestions. Thanks in advance!

I'd stay clear of TrackSpec.. They're down the street from me, but after the experience I had with them standing behind their work, I won't touch them again.

Noted, thanks! They suggested I contact Blacktrax...any thoughts? To me they seem pretty S2000-focused, but I've got zero experience with any shops in the area so...

I've also received some fairly reasonable labor rates from Motorsports Techniques, though about the same as a good set of ramps would cost me. Any experience with them? Thanks again for your input!
