• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

I didn't see a thread (I don't think we count as PNW, but please delete if that's wrong).

Who's out here?? :)

I'm reporting in from Mountain View.

Recently got my Stinger G2 AWD here in Elk Grove. This is my 3rd Kia (2 prior Optima SX).

Elk Grove here too. Probably relocating to Dublin/Pleasanton area in the next month or so.

Since moving to the East Bay I've missed the beautiful drive I used to take, starting in Novato / Petaluma, west to Point Reyes, north to Jenner, along the Russian River east to Santa Rosa, and then back south.

The Mark West Springs Road between Santa Rosa / Windsor and St Helena is also another route that's gorgeous and that I miss dearly.

I'd be all for something like that, or to be introduced to a new beautiful route I can enjoy on the weekends.

Count me in!

Seems like we're pretty spread out, Sac all the way down to Mountain View. North Bay sounds like the midpoint, I'm in just don't know the area very well so someone would need to take the lead.
I would usually do a lap from hwy 17, hwy 9, hwy 35, hwy 84 then jump on 280 to the city.

Looking to join the club in the next few weeks, depending on work, prices, etc. I'm in Fremont.

Anyone find any tuners / shops willing to work on Stingers in the Bay Area?

Best way to get a JB4 while living in CA? Sign up for re-mailing service?

Best deal I found for mine was Concord Kia, it's a drive but well worth it. I did most of the haggling through email. Whatever you do steer clear if the kia in Newark/Dublin, worst/dishonest sales team ever!!

Wayne @Carter's Auto Repair in Fremont is legit, doesn't tune but he's an excellent, honest mechanic. Scheduled to throw on my dp's this week.

Thanks, D87.

Yeah, Newark is my closest dealer.. Hopefully they're not 1/10 for service. I can live with 6/10. Hopefully not too many issues. Driving a 2018 GT2 AWD there tomorrow just to test it over some potholes, etc. They said they'd give me a great deal on it. I'll at least listen to their offer. I'm actually looking for a GT1 AWD.

Not too many GT1 AWDs in the area - only Stevens Creek Kia in the local area. Looking at Jerry Seiner in Utah as well - they quickly sent what I think is a very good offer.

I like the GT1 for the better shifting control. My '05 Legacy GT has a similar "manual mode" and it would be a pain to have to relearn everything - I've had the car since new, so I'd have to undo 14 years of muscle memory. The GT/GT1 shifter is more or less the same as my LGT in terms of behavior, from what I read.

Thanks for the Carter's recommendation. Will have to see if he'll do my DPs as well, when the time comes..

I dealt with Abe at Winn Kia, he was nice enough but the sales manager was a p.o.s. trying to rip me off on my trade in as well giving me an outrageous price, not applying incentives etc. I went in with the quote from the other dealer too just see if they would match and he wouldn't budge. Once I driove away Abe started bombarding me with texts that they would match but at that point it was too late. The icing on the cake was that the sales manager crashed the last black 18 Gt2 awd on the lot. Smashed the drivers side rear quarter panel on another customers car!!! This was late Dec. Early Jan.

Thanks. Will definitely keep my wits about me..

Saw a red GT2 (I think) at Twin Creeks last night - anyone on here?

I've only seen one other stinger driving around in the bay area. I'm always driving between the east and south bay.

I used to live in Novato. Wish I had this car out there to take the drive to Muir Woods and to Stinson Beach, or go north through Sonoma. No, it's not as lively as the city but I thought it was a nice place to be. Sorry to interrupt, carry on with your regularly scheduled thread. :)

Totally hear you. I'm still close to Novato, Point Richmond is a half hour drive without traffic, but it still doesn't feel as accessible as when I lived in Novato and then Petaluma for the last 5 and a half years. I need to make more of a point of driving out there on weekends, but I'm also looking for East Bay drives that could scratch that itch.

That said, driving around the woods northwest of Santa Rosa towards Jenner and then back along the Russian River made for a wonderful drive, as always. I did realize that the car's steering is disappointingly light even on Sport mode, coming from a BMW M3 and Mazda MX-5, but beyond that, I really enjoyed zooming around the quiet backroads with my girlfriend.

Saw another black Stinger this morning on 880s then on the dumbarton, anyone on here?
