Girodisc install and review

Cool story bro, must be on reddit crying about up votes and crap.

Facts are different than a story. You disliked a post, I wanted to clarify why so I can figure out why. Maybe help you if you are in the same boat as me with warped rotors.

What did you dislike about:
I am pretty close to ordering these...I'm glad you posted up. My OE rotors are horrible.

This is a community, is it a bad thing that I wanted to give you a shout and see what's up? Sorry I tagged you, didn't mean to bother you.

That's fine and dandy but you didn't come off the way, you degraded me as new person with 3 post and a problem. I don't have any issues with the OE rotors and most reviews I've read say if they did have issues it was deposits on the rotors that burnt off. Sorry if you did have issues with yours and I'm sure some are really bad. I got rattles up the ass with mine and some say they don't so you never know.

Well, come to Atlanta and drive my pirate ship. I have rattles too. The rotor issue usually shows up if you drive the car hard, even mildly.

Sorry if I came off like an ass. This forum has suffered from it's fair share of "Stinger bashers" that join just to talk shit about the car since it's a "KIA". If you are disagreeing with posts, since you don't have them it can come off to some members wrong.

Sorry again

You'd replace just over looks? A disc is a disc. Holes or slots are just superficial differences, imho.

Lots of advantages to 2-piece rotors. Agree with the above that drilled rotors tend to suck, they're prone to cracking and warping, they weaken the structure of the rotor. Scalloped rotors have better integrity than cross drilled, and the divots or slots sweep buildup from the pads that can accumulate at high temperatures. 2-piece rotors are lighter, transfer less heat from and can expand and contract separately from the hub, which helps to avoid warping. They also look baller.

Had an AP Racing big brake kit with 2-piece rotors on my Z, they were awesome for 20 years.

Disc brake - Wikipedia
Key advantages of a two piece disc are a saving in critical un-sprung weight and the dissipation of heat from the disc surface through the alloy bell (hat). Both fixed and floating options have their drawbacks and advantages, floating discs are prone to rattle and collection of debris and best for suited to Motorsport whereas fixed is best for road use. I might just suggest backing up your disagreements with an explanation and set the rest of us straight, I agree with @Callum , it's a little suspicious when a new member joins in and simply disagrees with everything, feel free to join the discussion, everyone here likes a good debate as far as I can see.

What's the issue bud? The OE rotors are garbage, the warp pretty easily.

The OE pads are rubbish and dump residue all over the rotors for many people, which causes the vibration that many people feel - but the rotors themselves don't cause that. Rotors don't warp, and are not to blame for this phenomenon.

Agreed on that topic. Material transfer is the cause...probably that whole "track day" thing I did lol

Honestly, warping is such an easy concept to grasp I tend to use it.

My issue is that it perpetuate a belief in the community that the problem lies somewhere it does not, and that people will spend money on rotors and not actually fix the problem.

It annoys me even more when mechanics and dealership service departments perpetuate it - because they profit from not solving the root cause of the issue.

I have had that vibration feel in the pedal from time to time, what other than OE pads are recommended to change too?
I’m also waiting for dba to release their T3 slotted rotors so I can change these out as well.

Yesterday after Callum’s comment I checked on Digiwolf’s history and he had 8 disagree and 6 favorable.
I do agree that its odd that he disagreed on a post where someone said they had an issue with their car but I’d hardly say he is always negative.

Using the like/ agree / disagree / etc. is a nice feature that can help keep threads leaner as long as it is used in a logical manor. I guess in this case it created some misunderstanding or confusion.

With that, back to brakes...

Edit: I tried to give Dirtwolf the benefit of the doubt. I see he is disagreeing with more nonsensical posts in this thread. Seems to be just above troll status at the current point and heading downward...

I would suggest a better attitude in posting may win more friends than selecting disagree all the time.

There is no doubt in my mind he is a troll.

Hello

Every post about the Stinger being good he dislikes. He's another MOPAR lover, or has a "I'm better than you" mindset.

HOW are the rotors holding up and was anyone else rubbing a set?
