Being a perfectionist by nature, my fuel filler door is driving me nuts. Ever since the Sunset Yellow repaint, the door edge closest to the rear passenger door is slightly sticking out above the quarter panel. It is obvious when looking down the car with the drivers door rear view mirror, you can see the door sticking up off the qtr panel, not flush like it used to be. I already had the car back for paint clean up and they were supposed to fix it but never did. Does anyone know how to adjust the door? Couldn't find any instructions on the web. Thanks in advance for any help.

I would imagine the only way is likely to remove the wheel liner. I haven’t played around with the gas receptacle to see if it extracts out or in. But my money is on in.

Well I ventured out i to the garage on this snowy day in NJ to take a look at the fuel door. Found out there's 4 screws inside that hold a plastic plate, remove these screws and then pry up that plastic bottom piece, it has several clips on the bottom side that hold the whole fuel door assembly down onto the car. After that plastic is removed, lift up firmly on the rest of the assembly and the whole thing comes up. Didn't figure out how to remove the front edge (closest to passenger door) as it was being held in by what I believe is the cable for the fuel door release, but at that point I realized there was no way to adjust the door as it is all a one piece assembly. After re-installing, I noticed several rubber nipples around the edge of the rubber seal that the door sits on when closed. I shaved down the 2 that were towards the left side of the door when closed and it seems to have helped a bit. Left the others in place. Thought I'd share this info for whomever may come back to this post to figure out how to remove the fuel door assembly.
