So I just happened to look under the car and I see a what appears to be a sagging skid plate. I am curious if this is normal. I don't have a lift but i can't tell if there are even mount points. 20180401_210421.webp

I would take it to the dealer for inspection & replacement unless you have hit something.

No it’s normal but it happens especially after oil changes. Either screws are missing or it has not been put on properly. Get dealer to fix ASAP.

Just checked mine, looks like this is normal, not a good angle but mine angles down at the end too.

It should fit on top of the other piece and not hang down.my Optima had same problem. In saying that it may be that way difficult to see up close.

Maybe like that to allow water to run away easy.

There are six bolts and two push-pins that hold that panel below the oil pan. I'd suggest either doing your own oil changes or use a dealer so you know things get put back properly.

Going to let the dealer do the oil changes. However I only have 609 miles on the car and the drop just seemed off.

Similar problem... Took it to the dealer and had them look at it. They said there aren't any attachment points on that part of the plate. They also said there was a crease in it like it had been pulled down, but no sign of an impact point like I'd hit something. They ordered a new one and will replace as soon as it comes in. I haven't hit anything and no oil change or service yet.

Thanks. Same I have not got anything and mostof my miles are highway. I will take it into a dealer and see if they will take care of it.

Thats funny...assuming the dealer will do it properly!!

The real problem here is that there are no attachment points and the material is somewhat flimsy fiber board.

Get under the car and one can see more easily the cost difference between Kia and the "Germans"

Those noticing this issue - have you had your first oil change yet?

Got a call today to say that the new part would have to come from Korea so I'll have to wait a bit.

I have the same problem. My front most panel dropped down (sagging) & then it clipped something on the road & tore loose

Too late for me, my front panel dropped down in a V shape & caught on debris & tore loose! Its a nightmare! I refuse to turn in an insurance claim because the panel should’nt have been made out of cardboard, shouldnt have come loose & frankly i shouldnt be dealing with this issue!
