Hi all,

Been reading the manual and it states that upon approach with key in pocket the mirrors will open, lights in the base of the mirrors illuminate the ground and led lights in the rear of the exterior door handle illuminate.

Well the first 2 operations occur but no illumination of the handles on either side. Looking at the rear of both handles shows a small round aperture but I cannot see if a bulb is present. I presume the arrangement would be similar to the single light in the roof switch console that gives a gentle glow on the centre console.

Anybody had similar problems and if so any repair suggestions? Nothing in the settings menu, only set welcome lighting on or off.

Thanks

Stefan

it's only on your front door handles and mirrors , One of my favorite features

Apologies, I didn't make myself clear,

I realise the lights are only on the front door exterior handles however although the mirror lights illuminate neither front handles come on.
Socalvn could you please check what is visible at the light source when not illuminated and if possible take a photo so I can compare with mine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Possible warranty claim coming up.

I don't think I explained myself very well,

I realise that only the front door exterior handles illuminate but when the mirrors open and the lower mirror lights come on there is no light output from the handles.
I just see a small opening in the black rear section of the handles but cannot see a light source.20221012_105844.webpHopefully you can see what I mean in the image.
Does yours look the same?

Thanks

yes, that is where my light is.. I wonder if this is one of those "trim" omissions as even with my light off, it looks "white"/Clear in that hole vs just being an indention on yours... in my manual it says "if equipped" so it may not be on some models.

Thanks for doing that and taking images. Mine is definitely a small plastic grey grommet instead of a light.
I have exactly the same description in my UK handbook except is called a welcome light.
In the UK the GT Line S trim was available on 2.0 turbo petrol and my 2.2 turbo diesel. The specification level was very close to the GTS 3.3 twin turbo petrol with notable exceptions of front seat bolster adjustment, lesser quality leather and 18 inch alloys. As you say some sort of omission or specification change.
Will have to track down another over here to check but they are very rare vehicles which is one reason for buying it.
Thanks again for taking the time to check for me.

I have same issue as mirrors get illumination, but both door handles don't. It's a bit strange that there is no light from both sides.

Does anyone know if whole door handle needs a replacement or it's fine to change only the bulb?

I bought a wrong color Stinger door handle from the scrap yard and tried to pick it apart. Had a hard time 'opening' the handle to get to the bulb and cables, I don't think that's the way forward.
I could have the handle repainted but I broke it heh.
Warranty should cover it, but the shop needs the car for diagnosis, and then I would have to book a new appointment for them to fit a new handle.
Fitting the handle is very easy, so it all seems like a hassle. Will check for new used handle at the scrap yard instead..
