For those that have plate holes in their front bumper...

Luckily, I have some access to a laser cutter. I used some red mirror acrylic to create a front plate that just covers the bracket, leaving a faint outline. Also features my personal logo - perks.

Care to make a one-off silver version for me? :D

Need some opinions on this one gents!

Car was just delivered fresh from the factory and the dealership didn't drill/install the plastic license plate bracket.

I'm required by law to have a front license plate but im contemplating whether I should drill holes in the bumper to install or purchase a side license plate mount.

The car does have drill points/"dimples" in the front that are not bored through - not noticeably from a distance.

I feel lucky to have this opportunity but need to decide wisely LOL

S.O.S.

If you really don't want to bore holes in your bumper cover, and your laws allow a front plate offset to the side of centre, get a tow hook plate attachment.

On the other hand, if the law requires you run a plate so it will be on there all the time, the holes don't really matter as it's a permanent installation - and the front end will look more symmetrical with the standard licence plate position.

I finally got my plates and went to put them on (in D.C. we have to put them on the front) and I assumed this stupid black thing on the front was a mount for United States plates....nope, it doesn't fit anything. I took the black plastic thing off and it is ugly back there, nasty holes, so, any suggestions for modifying this mount or whatever it is to fit a U.S. plate?

If you look further up the thread, there's been suggestions such as putting on a mirrored plate to cover that black front mount. There's also custom design plates that are smaller than a full license plate but fill that space. They're pretty popular with the Subaru crowd, but other people have done it for their Stingers.

We don't have a front plate requirement here so I haven't seen this piece, but I take it the existing holes don't line up the mounting plates screw holes on a U.S. license plate.

I would think that you could either drill the top of the plastic piece to match the two holes on the top of a license plate, or if it that's not possible then make an adapter plate out of a thin sheet of metal plate. The adapter would have one set of mounting holes to first attach it to the black plastic frame, and another two holes at the top that align with and allow attachment of your license plate.

Thanks guys, I brought it back to the dealer and they just shrugged and said that half their Stingers came with that already on. There were two tiny dimples on the black plastic so the guy drilled holes in there and now I have the plate on the black plastic which is in the bumper...annoying but I guess it looks fine. Now I need to find a nice plastic frame to go around the plate so its not just sitting out there.

Anyone know of a bottom mounted plate frame that is compatible with the Stinger? Would prefer that over drilling into my bumber...and I think it looks better too

Just installed the side license plate holder on my car after playing around with 2 kits over 2 hours. What a nightmare and time sink for sure. Not a HUGE fan of the look and I don’t think it’ll “stay” in place after brutal road conditions, rain and wind lol. What’s everyone’s thoughts?

I’m able to use the parking sensors but at the expense of half ass mounting (single screw at the way corner)

Was to busy to snap a pic but should be able to do so today. Liking the look of it more and more from different angles as I approach the vehicle from the front.

I'll post sometime tonight or tomorrow for sure.

PS: Corner parking sensor is now detecting the license plate. Ordered a few more back plates that are more "adjustable to avoid the corner sensor. Front sensor right above tow hook does not detect the plate, which is good.

I just have to make it very clear that I do not want a front plate or bracket installed when I order my stinger, so I don’t have to go through all of this.

@MIGULZZ I reached out the provider about creating a stinger plate and he did. I am not able to post the link but if you check out the vendor you linked, you should be able to purchase one. I will be providing pictures when I receive mine!

Every single KIA at Southwest KIA on 183 in Austin has front brackets on the cars. I got five holes in my bumper, it looks like they used three short screws on the bracket and then used two long screws to mount the KIA license plate frame to the bracket and those went right into the bumper.
SMH.

Same happened to my car. IDK where all the dealers are getting these super long tag screws that leave the two extra holes in the bumper, but damn is it heartbreaking.

I would refuse to take delivery of my stinger if they put a plate bracket on the front bumper.

Dropped my car off today and they are going to either fix or replace the bumper. Should be ready on Tuesday they said so I must assume they are repairing it unless there just happens to be a 19 GT front bumper in the US for them to next day ship.

Jumping in the discussion here - the dealer was also super enthusiastic about branding my car with their name. They put on the front plate bracket with screws that were too long, so I’m stuck with 5 holes, also.

I updated my custom front plate. Same laser cut method, but this time I used smoke acrylic for an inlay so you can really see my logo. I also adjusted the corners to fit the tag bracket more closely.

If anyone is interested I am selling a plate that I made for front bracket, it's almost exact size, my plan was to glue it but you can put holes through it as well.
