• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Your thoughts on the service level.
I dropped in mine just now. They said 2 stingers in for service who had central locking issues!!!

Like to hear if anyone else had any issues....

What is a central locking issue?

I think he means a problem with the automatic door lock function

Mine was in yesterday, and nothing was mentioned.

Can you add to what was wrong with the central locking?

Can't complain about there service level.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Why the early service when Kia specs a 10000 klm / 12 month interval?
Theres always an early service with new cars as far as im aware. Some at 2000 or 3000ks. After that service ive always noticed an improvement in fuel economy.

It’s to ensure that everything is tight that should be tight & loose parts are still loose. Cars are made in a factory, QA checked, shipped around the world to dealers with very little movement then sold to you the customer who will use it in most cases as a daily driver, after 3k it is a thorough check over to make sure nothing falls off....then regular service intervals as per the booklet.

Yes, a free 3k look over and fluid levels........

Yes we have the rattle also.
I have adjusted my hatch rubbers and its not as bad, but as the US have a TSB to fix the issue we should be getting the same fix.
Thanx Terra, good to hear it can be fixed, Ozstung says he can feel heat around his legs, seems it might not be right, have you experienced any heat in your car ?

Can't say I have.

Maybe it's a climate control problem. Take it back Ozstung to have it sorted or wait for the 3k service.

So far I've only heard about this heat issue one time. It doesn't seem like a problem multiple people are having.

As for the early first service - as mentioned it's to check to make sure everything is working as it should be. Once this check is done, cars normally operate fine for many years. But, initially, something could be set improperly that wasn't caught early on. Also, sometimes a thicker "break-in oil" is used - and that's changed to regular oil after the first service. In that case, fuel mileage will definitely increase noticeably with the thinner oil. At least that's what I've been told...

Ok mystery solved. It seems my service manager is useless. Apparantly when I said "I haven't been told what I need to do as far as servicing goes" meant to him "I'll give you the info about the yearly services that you pay for but I won't tell you about the 3000 klm / 3 month free service" that apparantly all Kias get!

Luckily a phone call to a lady in the service department who knows her business put me straight.

And while it's in there I will have the SA applied that relates to the software upgrade and find out what it is but if anyone else beats me to it then maybe they can let us know
