2021 Kia Stinger GT2 MBRP exhaust tip installation
I've had exhaust tips for a couple months now and finally got around to adding them today. I didn't think they would make much difference but the exhaust sounds better and no drone or abnormal noises at all plus they're black and not chrome or carbon fiber (not a huge fan of carbon fiber).
The exhaust tips I used for my 2021 Stinger:
63x105 so I didn't have to trim the rear fascia and I actually like the oval look.
The clamps I used on the exhaust tips:
Couple of tips if you decide to do this at home.
1. Use a stubby screwdriver for the lower screw and about a 4-5" one for the upper screw on the stock tips. There are also two bolts on each side at the bottom.
2. Remove the rubber mount from the rear exhaust hanger and the next one up toward the front of the car. Soapy water makes this much easier.
3. Loosen the clamp on the exhaust that clamps the muffler section. Loosen it completely so you can slide the muffler farther into the pipe if necessary.
4. After sliding the exhaust enough to drop down, then you can get the stock tips out. (you might need to twist the muffler a bit to get it to slide more into the pipe)
5. Reinstall the exhaust hangers and get the muffler section back in place. Align the muffler outlet pipes with your new exhaust tips before tightening the clamp that you loosened on the muffler section.
6. After you get everything aligned to your liking, tighten up your clamps for the muffler section and then the exhaust tips. (link above to clamps I used for tips)
Nothing really to difficult here. Removing the stock tips is the harder part. This would be super easy if you had the exhaust tips installed at the same time as the exhaust.
I hope this helps someone who is doing this mod.
Have fun!
