I have the Borla. Personally it's way too loud to live with not because of how loud the exhaust is, but the trunk has 0 sound dampening and all the sound get's trapped between the car and the bumper. 4 of these real exhaust tip from Aliexpress is a MUST for the Borla. (54mm in size B btw). After adding these tips, it is so much quieter inside the cabin.

Because the borla is too short and the sound wave get exhausted under the car instead of behind the car. And as I said, under the car is like a echoing cave.

Good call, then that could explain the Ark grip drone to. My pipes only just reach the current tips.

Do you remember the metal flap on the OEM exhaust? I'm pretty sure it's for cosmetic and sound.

No I don't recall any metal flap?

Not a flap but a baffle about four or five inches in front of the opening. A flat piece of metal that is perpendicular to the pipes. I think it baffled by blocking sound coming back in through the tips.

If I had known the tips tamed the sound down this much I would have bought a more aggressive exhaust.

Honestly, with what I've heard, I can't wait until my tips arrive. I have the Borla system and vs stock it was much louder. I lined the trunk with sound deadener, which helped a lot, but I'm hoping the tips get the rest of the sound to travel out the back and not reverb inside.

From what i have experienced on mine it will significantly reduce that sudden increase in drone you hear between about 1800 and 2500 rpm. In my car that it was like a volume boost was switched on between those rpm's. The increase was significant between those rpm's amd now with the tips it is not a volume boost at those rpm's anymore.

Just be aware that AP won’t even support the multiple members on this forum who had issues with their CAI.
