EV6 to replace Stinger as halo car

Luc is the man that gave us the GV80, people says Genesis copied Bentley however, this is just another of his designs. He had left HMG after the GV80 in April last year and came back to head up the HMG design group. Peter Schreyer gave us the 2010+ Optima and bowed out with the Stinger. Luc is now the Chief designer for Genesis, Hyundai and KIA, we can expect more from him and his team over the coming years. I'm really waiting to see what come next after the EV6, in the sporty car space.

I wonder if the manufacturers will do with EV's what phone companies do with phones...

Every software update your battery life drops 10% thus forcing you to trade up....
Planned obsolescence .
Big corporate love it.

And they're wrong since the GV80 looks virtually nothing like the Bentayga.

Sangyup Lee was the one who penned the Bentayga and GV80, Luc was the overseer of the general design direction.

English review of the EV6 in Korea. I'm sure when the GT version comes out, it will be more exciting. 5.1 to 60 is pretty good for the GT Line AWD, 265 miles range is not bad either. The long range RWD version is rated at 300 miles.

I am so curious to see what will the maximum mileage be on a full charge... in ideal conditions of course...

Those folks that are really good at hyper-miling, can do better than the 265 mile rated range. If it’s done like other KIA hybrids and PHEVs, it should get better than rated. When they get on the road, we will get more info on that.

My Stinger has gone over 400 miles on a full tank of gas during my east-coast road trips. Just putting it out there.

Matt is quite gaga over the EV6.

Wait until he drives the GT...

That means you weren’t really driving that thing.

I may have gotten over 300 on a couple of occasions but 400 would be difficult for me to do, in my old Stinger GT2 AWD. It just felt better at those upper speeds levels. My drive from VA to AZ, was the most fun I had in with the Stinger. While a long trip that, if time permitted, one could have worked on seeing how far you could go on a tank, I was more focused on how far I going get driving 12 hours a day.

Slowing down can certainly net you some greater distance, in any vehicle. Our Optima Hybrid and e tron does way better on local streets as opposed to the highways. I’m curious to see the range tests on the EV6 once folks start getting them in hand for these sort of tests.

Yeah I admit I tend to just go into ECO with "Coasting" enabled when I'm driving from Yonkers to Miami. I like to take those drives nice and easy and slow. No rush as to not risk the safety. Don't get me wrong a lot of my local driving here in south Florida I'm always having fun pulls and ripping the car. Side note: I think my car being a base model GT with RWD means it is a bit lighter than a GT2 with AWD so perhaps that's why I get better MPG? I know on average RWD gets better fuel economy than AWD and of course the lighter the car is the better for that.
