eBay Carbon Fiber Type S Spoiler

Anyone have any experience with these spoilers? Looks like an M&S Type S, but instead of matte black, it's carbon fiber (or at least looks like carbon fiber). I'm wondering how well they're made and if the fitment is right.

there is no way that its CF at that price ..................its likely a vendor who has ripped a mold from M&S and done a CF "look" overlay ........................it might be OK but I would be very concerned about fitment .................my $.02 ( btw I have an M&S spoiler and they fit great !! )

It's certainly an overlay, you can see in that shot that the base shape isn't made of CF.

They do specify in the description that "Carbon fiber item is Surface glossy finished .Use 3K twill weave real carbon fiber material."

I've already got a black car, the decision I need to make is whether I want a spoiler that is painted to match, or do I want the subtle CF accent...

Good catch. I didn’t look closely enough. I’m in the same boat with having a black car. I think the CF would be a nice accent, especially if there are a couple more CF parts elsewhere. I just don’t want to buy it, the find out it doesn’t fit well. Looks like they pretty much stole the M&S design. But is it as good? I guess there’s only one way to truly know

My brother in law purchased me one from ebay as a bday gift. It certainly was not an overlay of carbon fiber on an M&S spoiler. It was full carbon. I could also see some light shine through it in one spot. Not sure about every seller on ebay though...

That looks like CF to me. The expensive weave cloth you see under the gloss finish is not used to make entire parts, much cheaper fabric looks more like regular cloth without a visible pattern, and there's no need to produce a glass smooth finish on the hidden surfaces.

I got mine from Aliexpress, exact same as the one in your picture, shipping is expensive to Australia i must say but it was all carbon fiber, glossy on the bits that show and natural carbon fiber underneath, fit was perfect, i bought some from EPR as your photos show and some of it was from EPR Carbons, all fit great and was simple to install.

I also have one from AliExpress. Cost was 300 $CA including shipping. It fit very well but I had to supply the mounting tape. It looks great on my White Stinger.

Thanks, yeah amazing what just before sunset and a Samsung Galaxy 10+ can do

Only problem with these chinese carbon bits is that they will break down ...ie, clearcoat will fade and shatter...( fine lines appear).
My friend has front and rear diffuser, boot spolier on his AMG Benz..and all have faded badly especially rear near exhaust.
They really need to be clear coated with 2k clear for durability.

YES IF YOU GET IT PAINTED IN 2K CLEAR IT SHOULD LAST AS LONG AS YOUR OEM PAINT IF LOOKED AFTER..
