Hi,

I got in my car this afternoon and I noticed I was not able to toggle on/off the heated/cooled switch. When I got my destination, I turned off the car and turned it back on. Everything is working again.

I was wondering if anyone ever had the same issue? Is this indicative of a bigger problem if it happens again?

Thanks

Haven’t heard this reported before. Probably a good idea to check it every time you hop in the car and if it starts occurring frequently, report it to the dealer. It’s not a known issue as far as I’m aware.

If it is not a known issue, then it was probably just a fluke in the electronics. Thanks for the reply.

Had any spills in that area? The car I originally test drove had a dead heat/cool button, apparently the manager's son had spill Coke on the console.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Remember that the Stinger and many new cars are essentially rolling computers. It takes a few seconds for the systems to boot from cold to fully functional so when you start up, give it time to settle down and run its function check before taking off.

This may not be the issue with the heated seats, but on my GT2 I use both the Seat 1 (wife) and Seat 2 (mine) presets. When I get in the car and start up, press the Seat 2 button (my setting), if I don't give the rear view mirrors time to do their reset (several positional movements) and put the car in reverse, they will not correctly position down for Reverse. If I wait until the mirrors have completed their reset, then they position properly.

I had this same issue last week. Restarted my car and all was well.

I purchased A GT2 last week. Up until today no issues... Heated seats did not come on from initial start. Had to restart the vehicle to get working. From there my slight bit of new car ownership ocd took over and made me want to fuss around with both toggles. I do not get that satisfying notch into place feeling when toggling for the drivers side cooled seat. Seems the bottom right portion of the toggle is a bit closer to the brushed aluminum console causing it to hit that before the toggle can give you that sensation of "clicking/clunking/notching" into place. I realize its not so much an audible noise as much as a feel. I can live with as long as the seat cooling is functional but a little disappointing nonetheless from a new car. Anyone else notice this or am I being way to nit picky?

Mine did it once. Cycled ignition and has never happened since. Didn’t think much of it, coming from Mercedes and BMW lol

Have had this happen a few times with my 2020 GTL. A little under 10k, and car restart has always solved it. A bit annoying as its so infrequent I dont notice its not on until I'm driving and can't turn off the car (i.e. highway driving). I have noticed it will come on for a few seconds as I always look at the light when turning them on, they must turn off after a few seconds, you know, when I'm no longer paying attention.

Same thing happens to me recently.

I start the car and it works fine for some time.

Then I look and all the lights are off and the switch does nothing (no heating, no cooling) if I restart the car it would work, but then it might stop again.

Anyone resolved this yet?

This is probably not the issue but I will add some advice;

Auto. controls that use climate control settings (if equipped)

The temperature of the driver’s seat warmer, air ventilated seat and heated steering wheel is automatically controlled depending on the inside and outside temperature of the vehicle when the vehicle is running.

Operation
  • Select Settings → Vehicle → Seat → Heating/Ventilation → Auto. Controls That Use Climate Control Settings → Steering wheel warmer/Seat warmer/ventilation on the infotainment screen.
  • The heated steering wheel and seat warmer/ventilation defaults to the OFF position whenever the vehicle is restarted. However, if the "Auto. controls that use climate control settings" is ON, the heated steering wheel and seat warmer/ventilation will turn on and off depending on the inside and outside temperature.
The auto control works on seat "ventilation", when the ambient temperature (outside temp display) is 20C or above. The inside temp has to be set at 24C or less. Ventilation will turn on automatically. The lower the climate control is set, the more the seat ventilation increases. (more blue lights)

The auto control works on the "heated steering wheel and seat warmer" , when the ambient temperature (outside temp display) is 10C or below. The inside temp has to be set at 25C or more. Steering wheel and seat warming will turn on automatically. The higher the climate control is set, the more the seat warming increases. (more red lights)
