Does My Stinger Have DBL?

I have a 2018 2.0T Premium w/ Tech Package, USA version. In the Configuration menu screen, I see that I can choose the "auto" function in the headlight section, and below that is the line" DBL Off".

I don't see how I change that to "on". The "auto" feature works fine. The user manual seems to imply that the DBL will activate automatically when "auto" is chosen, but my lights stay fixed. Thoughts?

If you have DBL and you park in front of a wall you will see the headlights adjust when you start the car.

I thought that only the GT2 has the dynamic bending lights.

I'm a bit confused on whether my Canadian GT has this as well. When I start the car the headlights autolevel but I don't know if they turn with my steering inputs. I'm going to watch for it tonight on my way home.

They don't typically move when you are not moving and the change is subtle as you are driving.

The specs are on the Kia Canada website. DBL on the Limited only.

I dropped by my friendly Kia dealership to get this answered definitively, and he showed me the area behind the headlamps where the servo motors would be if the vehicle was so equipped. It is not. We made sure by changing the light positionings and moving the steering wheel. This is another example of how weird the different configurations of the car exists depending on which factory it came out from and what its destination was.

The technician did tell me an interesting tidbit though. When he runs the VIN through his system, he gets a complete "DNA" report of the car; where it came from, exactly when it was built, which features were added and whether they were put on at the factory, the port of entry, or the dealership, as well as other unique particulars to each vehicle. I had an issue where the key to the locking lug nuts was missing and he could tell where they were applied - in this case, the dealership, so he gave me a replacement kit right while I was there.

my 2018 GT2 awd DBL only works if you push your light stalk forward 1 time enabling high beam assist. I believe the manual even calls this out.

DBL works anytime unless the brights are on, at least on mine..no pushing of the light stalk.. have mine in auto

Interesting. Wonder why mine only work when HBA is enabled. I’ll play with it tonight.

I’m wrong for once in my life. The Dbl is NOT tied to the HBA.

It worked just on auto setting on the stalk.

The owners manual states that DBL only operates in Auto, but leveling operates any time the lights are on.

Given your confusion about the Stinger's configuration options, you're well-qualified to apply as a salesman at a Kia dealership. Just kidding, of course! With all the tech and options, it takes awhile to figure them all out, let-alone get comfortable with them all.
