Did search for a bit and didn't really come up with anything. Has anybody actually changed their brake fluid themselves? If so, did you use a pump/kit like this:

YSTOOL Manual Brake Clutch Fluid Bleeder Kit Oil Change Bleeding Tool

The one Issue is the master reservoir cap seems to fit every make of car except Kia. I think our break fluid reservoir cap is larger than 45mm, plus it's not a threaded neck on the reservoir tank.

Thoughts and suggestions on process?

I thought the motive power bleeder with the 0107 cap fit the stinger?

so, I went with the old fashioned way, some 1/4 inch hose, an empty water bottle, and my son pumping the brakes. Worked great, just took some time to get everything prepared. I bet I could do it in 2 hours now that I know what I'm doing and that's including getting the 4 wheels off and the car up on jack stands, and then all back together. Went with Motul RBF 660. Ready for the track with that and my G-Loc R10 pads.

Hey guys, do I need 2 or 3 bottles (500ml) of brake fluid for fluid change?

2 should do it, but I felt like having a third on hand just in case, also for topping off later.

I've heard that with the Brembo brakes you're supposed to do it in a different order than what is normal for cars. Did you do this? I've also heard that there are more than one bleeder screw for each caliper and now the job is more daunting to me... Any advice?

This has been posted on other threads in the forum. From the service manual. At each position, bleed inner caliper first, then the outer

Looks like it does. I'm not 100% certain though.

Awesome, thanks for this.

I bled mine incorrectly according to Kia's manual. I just went with the caliper furthest from the reservoir, and worked my way back. Inside then outside of each caliper. No power bleeder either, just had my son pumping the brakes. A year later brakes are still working great after multiple track days and 3 sets of pads.

After having done it, I think I would just probably pay my shop to do it, but supply the fluid myself!

^^The motive power bleeder really does make it a one man (how many women you know that bleed their own brakes.....) job. Just pump up to ~15 psi then loosen the nipples. Fluid comes out. Stop when clear fluid is visible.

If you can jack the car up and get the wheels off, that's half the battle.

Good point. May be cheaper to get the bleeder and just do it myself.

Do you know which model fits the stinger?

Good to know! Have my first track weekend coming up in February. How was it when you went?

Track is awesome. VIR is a great track as it's very technical but also has some really long sections where you can get up into the 140mph plus range. With the brake fluid and track level pads on the car brakes like a champ. no issues with brake fade, etc. My only experience is at this track though, so shorter tracks might be harder on the brakes. But, if you do fluid and pads you should be good. eventually better rotors will help too.

Car is a bit heavy but I have lightweight bucket seats, and strip out everything in the trunk, back seats, etc. I Have lighter wheels, sway bars, lowering springs, and of course all the extra power so it's still pretty fun. one day I hope to get a car that's better at the track, maybe a Civic Type R, or a Porsche Cayman.

Check out "Stinger Time NC" on you tube for some track videos. The speed displayed is based off GPS so it's a bit laggy but top speeds are pretty accurate.

Oh nice VIR is where I'm going in Feb! Going for TrackClub USA's Winterfest. I have the Eibach lowering springs & sway bars, lighter wheels & better tires, pads and rotors, and now doing the fluid. I hadn't even thought about taking some weight out but that's a good call. I'll probably take out the spare tire then. Did you run the sway bars on the stiffer setting?

Yes, running on stiffer setting. no issues for me. I'll be up at VIR in March for Track Daze event.

You will have a blast.

My son and I did both cars last Summer. I'd rather do it myself. Too many horror stories for me to take the chance with somebody else wrenching on my cars, especially ones we take to the track.

Even coming straight from factory there is no guarantee for a job done right. The first time we bled the G70, there was traces of bubble coming out of each caliper. Not a lot, but any air in the brake fluid is bad news. That was less than a year after we bought the car.
