You answered it. A super rich warm up when cold to warm up the cat and gdi just has fuel dilution in general. An oil analysis would reveal what's going on, but it should not smell like gas. I discovered a blown coil pack that resulted in gas smell in my oil in as little as 1000 miles. I know Kia says 6k oil changes but if you are tuned 3k is all I would and am doing personallyResponses seem diverse. Many boosted owners on different brands report the issue. Seems GDI boosted engines have some dilution on cold start and high boost....I know for a fact my car runs pig rich stock as indicated by soot and black smoke under throttle it always has. I’m sure running map 2 with 50 plus pulls has resulted in blow by as well. I’m not sure there’s an issue but asking the dealer is a huge waste of time imo. She’s fast though....runs solid a d there was no fuel apparent in my last oil change
My hpfp is dumping gas into the engine. 2019 2.0 52,000 miles so went in under warranty. Haven't got car back yetIs yours 2.0 or 3.3? I've read 2.0 has a common problem with hpfp.
