Hi I’m kind of new in this forum I recently purchased 2022 Kia stinger gt1 a few days ago I installed jb4 and denso spark plugs that are sold here . I gapped the spark plugs to 022 and started running map 1 and 2 switching between them a few times for testing purposes.
I’ve noticed that my car is vibrating when standing still on D and when I shift to N it stops vibrating . A few notes -
I touched the new spark plugs with bare hands I don’t know if that’s ok or not .
And when I gapped them I think that the sharp edge kinda bent over .
How would the car behave if spark plugs are not gapped right ?
Any chance I damaged them while gapping ?
Added a pic of my beauty :)

Welcome to the hive! I’m not an expert as I recently just installed my JB4 as well. But is like the whole car vibrating immensely? Other folks on the forum are gonna ask what fuel are you running as well.

I would personally say touching it with your bare hands should not matter. If you gapped it with the correct tool then spark plugs should be fine. Maybe posting your logs will help the other users on this forum. But I have had mines installed for less than a week now using the HKS plugs and there is no vibrating at all. Car should function as if it is stock.

"sharp edge bent over"?????????
This type of spark plug uses a very narrow platinum/iridium/whateverium tip. That tip is extremely weak. Don't mess with that. The ground strap (the part that's bent in a big L) is what you move to gap the plugs, and you just have to do it without messing the electrode tip.

In ye-olden-days when spark plugs were made of coal you would just wedge the gapping disc in there and lever between the electrode and the ground strap to open them up. Can't do that anymore.

Touching a spark plug with your bare hands is fine.

My 18 GT2 also does the Vibration slightly when stopped in D, enough for me to feel it for sure, It also did it Pre any modding as well, and it will stop it when you either go into Neutral/park just like you said.

Im no expert, but based off what I have payed attention to, it seems to be because the first gear "Idle" (Not moving) RPM seems to be a tad higher than the park/neutral RPM, making the car want to go forward, but the the brakes wont let it. My vibration stops the second I let the car roll a bit. I would not worry about it too much. you will get used to it very quick.

The rest of your concerns have been answered already, so I am going to skip them.

Also, I'm very torn over what you have done to the front of the car. I honestly cant decide if I like it or not. what I will give you, is that it is very unique among our limited customization options for our cars, and I give you an A+ on that.
I think it could be possibly made to look very clean if you where to extend the black diagonally downward to expand to match the width of the lower trim by the time it meets up with it. I can throw an example of what I mean together in MS paint if you want me too.

I actually will agree with you mainly my vibration comes when initially starting the car and until it warms up it vibrates on and off. But after that it’s pretty much smooth sailing. Other then the initial hard jerk in first gear when first driving when the engine is cold.

His customization is different and I’m all for it ahaha. Whether I like it or not it is definitely different which I applaud him for.

When I customized my car it was really important for me to be unique and different from any other stinger out there I guess mission accomplished
Thanks bro

I would love to see the example really curious to see .
Thanks for the reply I’m still trying to understand what would be the symptoms of spark plugs that are not gapped properly ..

Can you tell me which tool did you use to gap the spark plugs ?

Incorrect gapped plugs will cause the car to either have timing pulling way higher than normal or completely fall flat when at WOT (wide open throttle) and misfire. You can use the JB4 to log to check timing, and you would know if the car was truely running rough. Ir would lurch around or not want to move at all.
