Custom JUN BL EVC

Did my custom mid pipe with h crossover on the Jun BL back to Magnaflow x muffler then to dual varex mufflers. The new mid pipe 100 % solved the rattle/rasp. Sounds amazing now, just as I'd hoped. No need to add cats back now

I wonder if just adding the resonated x magnaflow would have been enough to stop the sound

Probably. The resonated Magnaflow x pipe is widely used in the G/Z V6 community. I had a raspy true dual exhaust on my G37 with an H pipe to dual resonators and then to two straight through mufflers and it sounded like garbage. Replaced the H pipe and both resonators with the resonated x pipe, and it sounded perfect.


11386 is the part number for the 2.5" in/out x pipe.

Finished installing all the parts including the NGT primaries. The rasp is unreal, even when the EVC is in quiet mode. I think I will replace the center muffler with the Magnaflow like you did, I am contemplating going with longer one part 12568 to further reduce the sound if the space permits, but I am worried it will affect the power, also thinking of adding 200cpsi high flow cats on top.

That sucks, I think I’m going to stick with stock primaries I hate rasp.

I would until someone makes one with a good HFC
 
Small update, should be ready today. Hopefully it reduces the rasp to the extent I don't need a resonator. The cat is 200cell and 4.25" dia.

Finally the car sounds nice and drivable. I would say 90% of the rasp is gone with the HFCs. No noticable power loss, infact i ran faster on Map 2 then I ever did before.

Also for anybody thinking of installing catless primaries, I installed HJS catted adapters for the O2 sensor, you can see the cat inside the fitting. you will need the 45degree ones part #999190. I have yet to get the CEL and I have put atleast 1k miles on them.

will get a video in a couple of days, this is a video before installing the cats.


I didnt see the need to relocate the sensors since i didnt get the CEL with the catted adapters. So both sensors are before the HFC in their original location on the NGT primaries, pics attached.

Oh I get it now. Nice job, good to know the catted adapter work good to prevent the CEL light.

Its running great, nice sound when valve is closed, really loud when valve is open.

Performance wise are you satisfied? How is the drone with valve closed and open?

After adding the cat, no drone with the valves closed. Valves open its really loud with drone at the lower RPMs. I spend 98% of the time with the valve closed.

The HJS cats made a huge difference in the sound, makes it sound slightly more exotic.

Performance very satisfied.
