Since the temperature has been in the triple digits for the last couple of days, I've started noticing a charcoal grill smell inside the Stinger after driving on the highway for a bit and then turning off the car for about 10 mins or so. It's when I get back to the car that I notice the smell.

Since it's been so hot, I've been driving a lot slower and easier on the throttle as well and didn't notice any smoke or leaks either.

Anyone else experience anything similar?

Did you recently change the oil, by chance?

I actually haven't reached my first oil change yet, planning to do that at 5k

How many miles do you have? New cars typically smell from the engine bay as various chemicals used during the manufacturing process are burned away.

Currently sitting around 4600. I did notice the other typical burning plastic smell during the first few hundred miles but that has subsided. It may be possible due to the extreme heat that it's still emitting those smells? But it's a different a type of smell now.

Hmm, that's all I got. Maybe someone else will be able to help.

have a catch can? They often leak fumes after they get hot. When you get back in the car, the fumes get sucked into the car via the climate vents.

I've got a little less than 4k miles on my 2022 and haven't noticed any "Charcoal" like smell inside the car. My only issue with this heat is the carpeted covers that are stuck to the back of the back seats that come from factory are falling due to the glue that holds the velcro (or whatever it is) is detaching.

That's a good point. Normally when the catch can on my Mini gets full and it's super hot outside, I can start to smell the fumes of it.

Unfortunately, I don't have a catch can installed

That sucks, is this the 2nd carpet on the bottom that's peeling? I remember there being some sort of clips in the back. Don't remember since my backseats never get used.

Yeah it's basically a second carpet that attaches to the back of the back seats. Normally you detach by the velcro between the seat back and the carpet but the glue holding the velcro to the carpet gets so soft from the heat that the weight of the carpet is enough to the velcro to stay stuck to the seat back as the carpet just falls away.

Especially popular here at thebarbec is the 26" Weber kettle. Gives you a lot of room to work with as well as the option to smoke with it. I think you can't go wrong with anything Weber, but the extra space on the 26" definitely helps.
