Ceramic coating/wax

I should also mention @Gtecko , that $1300 includes paint correction (a full polish), that's not just rubbing the car with a ceramic coating. Takes a full week. I also had PPF and tinting done at the same time.

APPLICATION PROCESS
  • Wheels (including inner barrels) & wheel well liners cleaned & agitated with various detailing brushes
  • Entire vehicle “snow” foamed with a thick layer of citrus based shampoo
  • Hand washed using the 2 Bucket Method with Grit Guards®
  • Paint dried using a plush & dense microfiber towel
  • Excess water blow dried – with warm, filtered air – from crevices, door jambs, mirrors, & trim
  • Exterior paint & windows clay barred to remove embedded contaminants
  • Chemical decontamination – a pH balanced iron remover
  • Paint finish perfected via paint correction to remove any swirls, scratches, etc.
  • Tires & wheel wells get dressed to a deep, black finish (water based, sling-free)
  • Two (2) coats of ServFaces Coat Ultima (base) and one (1) coat of FINAL (top) applied to the paint and head/taillights
  • Coating baked to 150-170°F using a shortwave infrared curing lamp

Not all turds can be polished. You, for example, are beyond repair.
Boohoohoo a grown man blubbering over a complement. Take your turd elsewhere if you can’t handle it. I’m sure there’s a turd lovers forum somewhere. One would think you would be able to sniff it out. Or you could hang a shingle out stating “Turd Polisher Here” they will flock to you. Thanks for the morning:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::)

Now now , you boys settle down ! Bawaaa

mine had been done when kia repainted the car. windshield, rims, windows, headlights. my headlights were tinted right after I purchased the car, so the coating went right over that. 3 years in, no darkening of the color. cost me $1100.00

Ahh, I thought you were one of our Ottawan's, I see you're in Halifax :)

same local deals here, it will cost 1200 for sure to do the car ... quite expensive and I dont have a garage to do the job myself

I am putting my 11,111th post here. You guys make me laugh.

And thanks, @YOWStinger, for that detailed step by step process that goes into professionally doing ceramic coating. I think this is the first/only time I've seen that.:)

Could you do this outdoor though ? with all the pollen and dust around, I would assume that doing ceramic coating would be done in a garage or something ?
how long would you say it would take to do our Stingers?

You want to do it indoors because the ceramic coating requires 5 days to cure before getting it wet with rain, elements, etc. That's what the CarPro UK ceramic coat product I used recommended. I spent an entire weekend doing it all -- car wash, full clay bar, paint correction, paint polish, and finally the CarPro ceramic coat. Then let it cure Monday thru Friday before taking it out the following weekend, which of course rained.

Here's a picture from after I completed it.

That is a great deal compared to Vancouver. I'm looking at $1400 or $1500 depending on whether they classify the Stinger as a medium or large vehicle and it comes with a 5 year warranty. I can upgrade to their ultra coating for $1700 or $1900 respectively with a 9 year warranty but I doubt I'll need a warranty that long.

Who are you looking at doing it for you in Vancouver?

Is it a fairly simple process to apply, if your paint doesn't need correction??

Simple process but you do it in small sections because you only leave the CQuartz on your paint for 1-2 minutes before immediately removing. The Stinger is a very large car. If this is all you are doing then you can complete in one day. But remember, CQuartz recommends leting it cure for approximately 5 days after before getting it wet. So you should leave it in your garage until then.
