Cell phone holder placement

First mod lol
Scosche Magic mount. Did my best to keep the wire out of sight. The wire comes out the front of the storage area until I can find a way to keep it inside.

Using A-Tach mount right now, this thing is like a rock, absolutely ZERO play, i mean i cant even move it at all. Seems good. Time will tell, love the placement since its near the cord. IMG-3161.webpIMG-3164.webp

How much was it and how difficult was installation? Looks really sick! :)
50$ - 25$ for mount and 25$ for device holder. I bought like 3 cheap mounts first and didn’t like any of them in the stinger should of just went for this one to begin with.

Can it stick to back of map, display unit? Jutt out from side?
Yes.....that's what I did with a long neck holder. Turned it sideways and attached it the back of the display and it wrapped around to sit between display and main dash panel. Perfect spot

For a while I had the phone mounted on the left side of the steering wheel. The vent over there is more forgiving of different mounting solutions. Drape the cable over the steering column and when you unplug the phone the cable can either be placed over the steering column or you can let it hang. Any automatic adjustment of the steering wheel didn't clip the cable or cause issues. There also aren't many commonly used buttons over on that side, the main one is the fuel door release.

Don't buy these. My wife and I both have Stingers. I bought 2 of them and in Assachusetts they both melted in the heat and fell off. The part where it clips under up near the screen. They were great for a few months but as soon as it got hot they failed. It's too bad because the placement was perfect

Here is my solution. I pretty much use AA 100% of the time so don't need to see or touch the phone when driving.

The USB-C wire I use has a magnetic detachable tip; I leave the tip installed in the phone and just click the magnet in place when getting ready to drive. Besides making it easier to hook up, I feel this also saves wear and tear on the phone. At home, I use a fast wireless charger and leave the tip inserted.

The second picture shows how I routed the wiring to be able to keep the console cover closed.

Since originally posting this, I got some Tuxmats, which completely cover the area where I mounted the pocket. If I decide to keep the mats, I'll be moving the pocket to the "wall" of the mat, in the same location where it is now. I'd also clip the mat into place along the center console, so everything should be more than secure enough. This might be a good option for anyone who wants to avoid poking holes in the factory carpet.

(Sorry about the repost; I didn't realize there was a larger phone holder thread)

I think it's only a matter of time. I'm in Assachusetts which is a terrible place to live but not because of the heat. If it melted here will it not melt anywhere south of here? Logic says yes. I guess it could be that I got a bad batch, but even there I bought mine then my wife saw it and liked it so I ordered one for her. So they weren't ordered at the same time. At least a month between orders

Paid with paypal for mine in March

Also unless you live someplace that’s colder than Massachusetts it’s going to melt and fall off in a couple of months
That is great to know its not cheap. Back to trying to figure out what one to get again.
