I hear ya. I'm outvoted 4 to 1 on that course of action.Paint correction and get rid of the cat.
Perfect for a stress free lifeA particular mouser that I attract into our yard with free food enjoys camping out on my Stinger: often I see traces of long orange/white fur, mixed in with muddy footy prints. I live with it, as the alternative is mouses. So far, I have not noticed any scratches!?I try to not look too closely: following the five to six feet back rule: if it doesn't attract your attention, it isn't worth the worry or the bother. In the event that I do get a scratch, I will use Meguiar's rubbing compound, followed by polishing compound (these are by hand, not buffer), and then a coat or three of wax. A kitty claw scratch is not going to get any deeper than into the cleat coat. Rub across the scratch, never parallel to it.
Here's a pic of both guilty party and finish. It doesn't look deep. Lighting wasn't the greatest. The hood also has some longer more fine scratch marks.photo would help
Looks minimal. meguiars x-scratch should get rid of em. Ultimate compound by meguiars is excellent too. Here's a pic of both guilty party and finish. It doesn't look deep. Lighting wasn't the greatest. The hood also has some longer more fine scratch marks.
Mouses are definitely not welcome near cars and cats would be preferred. I only noticed this scratch as I was opening the hood. It's right above the KIA emblem and my eyes will be forever drawn to it whenever I go to reach for the latch.A particular mouser that I attract into our yard with free food enjoys camping out on my Stinger: often I see traces of long orange/white fur, mixed in with muddy footy prints. Truth. Like they say, it's the first ding that hurts the most. After that ain't not so bad.Rock chips and door dings are the greater enemy (aka hoomans). The cat was providing a growth opportunity, to not be so twitchy regarding the inevitable imperfections. You should give it an extra rub later.
Light polish and wax, done. If you're not familiar with detailing the car, head over to youtube there's (literally) a couple thousand quality videos on cleaning up surface scratches. Here's a pic of both guilty party and finish.
