Adro is ~18lbs

26 lbs is really bad for a CF hood

Element 6 is 2000~2500 usd.

Great idea for a thread . I'm waiting on the ADRO hood, I really love that design.

I don't think the more angular hoods really work on the Stinger. Adro first by a long shot then Seibon oem and SBGT tight second for looks. We need Kharz or K8 to stock a dozen Adro and get the shipping price down ($900).

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
why is this in the Tires/Suspension forum?
Maybe better under Exterior but i was thinking it was more of a non drivetrain performance part due to weight reduction and cooling. More than a badge but im ok of it moves.

I didn't know about the ADRO. Interesting. I think the seibon TS looks fine, even though it has a very sharp angular look with the vents. The SBM is very expensive for what it is, and it's heavy. My seibon is for sure lighter than OEM. The ark one looks amazing but fitment issues have been reported.

@madhouse do you have Ark hood? Do you know the weight and does it have rain gaurds?

yes I have the ark. Not 100% on weight best guess half the oem. No rain guards, vent drops water in between intercooler and engine with no issues.

Is weight really a thing here? I’m guessing most people do this because they are carbon obsessed. Dropping a couple grand to shave 20 lbs is pretty steep.

For weight savings wouldn’t investing in some forged wheels to reduce unsprung weight be a better choice?

We already have forged wheels

I'd do it for cooling / air flow, especially sitting waiting at the drag strip. Close second is looks and the 20 lbs. 20lbs only matters when you are battling out dragy and slip times vs Xot1 and Madhouse. :)

I am on a diet right now. CF hood won't do. :D

Does anyone have pictures of Seibon's OEM hood rain channels? How does it work and where does it drop the water?

The vents lead into the support channels and water would come out the larger oval I'm told. Not sure if the oval comes out or is porous.
This seems more like radiant cooling than airflow. The owner said he does see heat waves comming out the vent.

How many Stingers with carbon hoods are using hood pins? I think i have seen zero. Found an older poll on another forum and about 20% had experienced failures with carbon hoods no pins.

more than you would think, actually.
