I've had my car 3 months now and haven't waxed it yet, the car still beads up water well, maybe too well lol...

I'm used to waxed cars staying wet longer than other non waxed cars because of the beading, but I've never had a car stay wet as long as my Stinger. It's wet, cool, and cloudy here in the south right now and my car will stay wet for 24 hours without rain in these conditions, it's ridiculous. I'm assuming it's because of the factory/dealership wax but I'm not really sure. Anyone else experienced this? If so, has anyone changed waxes and seen an improvement?

It's not a big deal, but if I had a choice I rather it dry faster than slower. I'm sure my car being white probably isn't helping.

Beeding is great, that means that no mater what the water will not stain the clear, as beeding means there is protection on the paint. How long it stays wet its a matter of the weather, being the south as well, Im used to my car staying wet for more than 24 hours as the humity levels are crazy high and there is no sun and no wind when that happens.

I'll have to take a picture of it tomorrow after it rains today, it just isn't wet, I mean it looks like it literally just rained on it, huge beads of water, and this is 24 hours later. I've never seen anything like it, I'll look over at my girlfriend's car and it will be 100% dry like it just drove through the desert

That is a good thing, and means you have excellent protection for your paint. Here, after I wash the car I try to dry it immediately afterward with a chamois and/or microfiber towels. We have quite hard water and if I let the beads dry on the car they will leave water spots.

You probably are using a detail spray (or the dealer did) that is a hybrid sealant. Basically makes your car hydrophobic just by applying and washing off.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Careful that you don't ignore a "sign" from God; you might be the next "Gideon". ;):p

Seriously, beading large drops of water is a plus. It says comparatively good things about your car's surface/paint. Small water drops evaporate quicker. Cars that don't bead evaporate quickest of all, detrimentally so. The way you describe your car is a very cool thing. If you want to make it look unwet, just invest in a nice collection of Dry microfiber towels (I've had very good results from Viking microfiber DRY 2'x3' towels; one towel will dry the whole car; you don't even rub, just open the towel and drop it, then lightly move it to the next section; do the glass first, then top to bottom).

They put something on during manufacture. My car has never been touched since it came off the boat and had the protective film removed - at my request because I was planning to get it wrapped. I've put over 2500 miles on her, mostly in awful wet (and this weekend salted road) conditions, but water still beads up nicely.

I am just loving the paint color, so I'm not sure if I will get her wrapped.

I’m in the south also (NC) and today was very mild, overcast and very humid. I was finishing ceramic coating the car and had to move inside completely (vs a carport) to have a semi-dry environment to work in. Used a leaf blower to dry the car. Lol. Beads of water (rain) in and of themself won’t hurt anything as long as the car is clean of salt or other contaminants. Beads are GOOD but will actually take longer to dry than a thin sheet of water on an unwaxed car.

yup, I'm at 3k and still experiencing the same thing. The more I look at this color, the more I love it. I've never liked a white car until this one!

I'm not worried about the water itself doing any damage, it's really just 3 things. The longer it stays wet, the longer dirt/pollen is caught in the water and then left on the car. If we get a sudden freeze after some rain, my entire car is covered in pretty substantial ice, already happened once this year. Lastly it's just annoying, I'll live :)
