Just wondering what the pros and cons of joining the car club is Any advice

I don't join things. I was born into a family and religion and Nation. I did not "join". Same with school: I had to go, somewhere for secondary. I've never belonged to a fraternity or club or association (I take that back I do have an NRA membership but that's for important reasons not for fun). A car club would obligate me at some point, some level. I joined this forum to obtain information. Later, it became fun(ny) and I have continued. It isn't like belonging to a car "club", though, imho. As long as it's free I'll come and go at will. A "cars and coffee" thing might happen in my future. I've put my Stinger into one car show (it was a benefit for Alzheimer's), because my mother lived at the assisted living place where it is held annually, and I happened to be there as the show was gearing up. But to belong to the club that sponsors this annual event would obligate me and I'd have to make excuses. Not joining is easier and freedom. If I already had friends who created a club, I'd likely make an exception if it were our shared interest that inspired the club.

Good lord man, he's not asking about going into the military, it's a car club.

You contradict yourself. You joined this forum (although it's free) and you seem to enjoy yourself here.
You joined the NRA, which is definitely not free (I'm a lifetime member).

I say go for it. You might make some wrenching buddies. Worst case you're out a few bucks for dues. If it's free, even better.
I joined a Jeep club and enjoyed wheeling with others (back when my Jeep wasn't rusty yard art).

EDIT: /s

Attending my local Cars and Coffee several times a year is fun to me. My local one in Augusta, Georgia is somewhat small and close to my house. The cars and the owners vary in ages and a local coffee shop provides great free coffee. I always leave the nice lady a generous tip. It is an easy event to attend and I usually stay for an hour or so.

I’m in:thumbup:!! Who in the Greater Vancouver, BC, Canada area wants to start a Stinger Club. How about we make it free and we can meet up a few times a year for some Stinger BS and Stinger ogling :geek: then afterwards we can go for a bite of lunch and BS a little more. In fact I believe there is a post in the Canadian Forum under the YVR thread YVR Stingers regarding a meet-up. Any interest from you Vancouver Area Stingers?
