Canadian Buyers - How much did you pay vs. MSRP?

Hey guys, just to keep the thread active and give new buyers some idea on haggling. I secured my Stinger GT limited AWD for $52K + GST. This included full set of 18" winter package with alloy wheels, full 7 window tint, cargo liner and basic expel on the car, plus the dealer 5 yr/50k warranty. I think that this was a pretty damn good deal as they were clearing the lot for 2019's.
What tires and rims did you get?

Anyone else got some good deals on their car? Planning to buy one by next year (GT Limited). As far from this thread looks like people got around 3K less than MSRP..

I got the Fast Switch wheels with Yokohama IG52c tires. Tires are not bad but not meant for fast driving. Which is fine for where I live as we do tend to have some pretty harsh winters and bad drivers.. so there's that.. haha

Try to get the previous year model as dealers will give you a much better deal when they are trying to make room on their lot for new models.

Hello,
Semi-long time lurker. First time poster.
Looking to get a little bit of feedback. I think I was given a pretty good price but i'm not entirely sure.

I test drove the mid trim Kia Stinger GT today at Richmond Kia. I had a pretty good experience with the folks there.
I was given the following figures:
- 48k cash or
- 60m/5year lease @ $630+tax. I believe they said something crazy like 6.5% lease rate. Works out to be $38k before tax. or
- 84m/7year finance @ $340 biweekly including tax (something like 2.9% finance rate) which works out to be about $57k. I was told it is open ended so the sooner I pay it off, the lower the compounded interest.
The purchase would include 5 year free maintenance. I don't know what this entitles. I believe just the regular intervaled oil changes? The salesperson I spent my time with told me oil changes are only about $90 and that there wasn't some sort of luxury/performance car upcharge on the stinger that one would expect. They also added a 10 year powertrain AND comprehensive warranty as well as a 5 year unlimited km roadside assist.

I've seen the GT settle at $46k all in, you have a lot of room to haggle.

I suppose I have about $2k of wiggle room if I was to pay it in cash. Did you receive the additional warranty/maintenance coverage too?

You have more than $2k if the initial quote did not include tax. I got the GT limited so a bit different in negotiations. I did get the 5 yr warrany package, and it includes all service not just the oil change. I posted what I settled at earlier in the thread.

@GetLikeJinxy

I see in the kia canada website that if you finance for 7 yrs the interest goes up to 4.49%. did the dealer gave you 2.9% because you have a almost perfect credit score? Like around 750 and up? Is that with 0 down as well the finance?

I wouldn't consider leasing because the value of the stinger drops humungous in the first few years. Heck why they quote you 6.6%. it's crazy. The G70 top of the line is cheaper to lease than the stinger (1.9,%) for 60 months I believe

Thanks for the info Origins!
The dealer didn't check my credit score. Maybe they were trying to push the 2018 inventory out, I have no idea how the 2.9% rate came to be. I wasn't totally paying attention when I asked about the 2019 but I think he said finance rate was 3.4%~3.9%

The 2.9% comes from the banks that they do their lending through. I got mine, the Limited model, through KIA Richmond a few months ago, through TD.

I had mine right under $50,000 @ 1.9% / 60-months.

They didn't offer, free oil changes, or the extended warranty as part of the package at the time.

Interesting! $50k Limited financed at 1.9% over 60 months is possible there. I will keep that in mind, thank you!

7 years is way too long to be financing a car for. If have to go 7, you can't afford it.

From what I can see nobody in this thread really got a good deal on their car.

I wasn't planning to do 7 years. That was the figure the dealer compared a 5 year lease with. Regardless, the financing is open ended so I would be paying it off sooner to reduce the compounded interest

I beg to differ. I think $49,500 for a ‘19 GT Ltd and all accessories at dealer cost including the PPF is a good deal.
