I ran over the curb and damaged my tires. Is it safe to drive or do I need new tires?

Do I have to change all my four tires or just the damaged one? will the alignment be of an issue since the other tires thread are less compared to the newer ones when installed?

Depends on how much tread wear... alignment for tires shouldn't be an issue, but it might be off if you hit the curb hard

Difficult to say from your pic, but it looks like the center tread wear is well advanced. If the tire is holding air, just go get a new pair. Go easy on surface roads; do not exceed c. 50 MPH, just to be prudent (the MPH rating on the donut is recommended at 50 MPH too; and they say to not exceed 50 miles driving on it to a repair shop).

If you don't feel any pull or vibration then it's pretty likely that no damage was done to the wheel, but you should still check the alignment and bearings and that suspension area just to be confident that everything is okay. It looks like your rim escaped with minimal impact. You can sand that smooth: heavy grit to remove burs, 200 grit to get rid of the grit lines, then 2000 grit wet paper (use lots of water) to polish it back.

To me, it looks like that tire should be replaced. Also, as has been noted that tire looks pretty worn so I think the other tire on that end of the car should also be replaced. Depending on how worn the tires are on the other end of the car, this may be an opportune time to teplace all four tires. Especially if this is an AWD Car.

I also think you may want to get the suspension checked for any damage or out of alignment. I once ran over a curb with no tire or rim damage, but managed to bend the strut requiring replacement.

Absolutely do not drive on that tire. Not safe at all. A blowout could easily cause an accident and seeing how much damage is there - any bump or turn could cause a blowout.

In terms of replacing just one or all - it's a tossup. How many miles on the originals? Hard to see treadwear from the pics.

Get new tires for sure.

I’ll be visiting the tire shop today and get it checked. I will also get the suspension checked as well. Thank y’all for the info.

I have driven 18k rite now.
Well then, new tires time. :D All four? I've never replaced more than a pair at a time: managed to get just under 15K miles out of the OE PS4 in the rear; another 4K out of the front: second set of rear tires got replaced this summer, again at c. 15K miles; the second set of front (replacement are all PS4S) still look pretty good and will probably go at least 4K past the rear tires that I replaced, like last time.

Hopefully the rim survived. A new Kia 19inch rim is $910 cad.

I checked with the dealer and another tire shop guy, I have to change the tires. The treads are pretty good on the other 3 tires so I just need to change this 1 damaged tire.

The alignment is perfect and has no impact on the suspension.

I am looking at Costco and what's the difference between

Michelin - Pilot Sport 4 and

Michelin - Pilot Sport 4 S

Sport 4 is out of stock while Sport 4 S is available. Can I get this one? cause the one that are the original one are not in stock and it'll take 1 week or more for the dealer to get that tire.

Unless the matching tire on the other side is fairly new, I would not replace a single tire. 18K miles is not going to pair well with a brand new tire. PS4 is an OEM tire (they were not in stock when I asked either, over two years ago); PS4S is the replacement tire: they are not the same, obviously, but they are both summer, UHP (Y) tires and completely compatible with each other. As I said, I ran PS4 in front and PS4S in back for over 4K miles, and did the Tail of the Dragon almost at the end of the front tires' life (changed them for PS4S when I got home).

Do you replace single shoes, socks, gloves, or anything else that customarily a pair of something?

Same with tires. At a minimum do at least the axle. At 18K you're about 2/3's of the wear for a PSS or PS4 tire. Take the good one with you and resell or keep as a spare.

Costco quoted me almost $250USD more for a set (4) of PS AS 4's recently. Haggled at discount tire for a better price (also long time customer). Is there a discount tire in canada?

This right here^^^

Unless the tread wear is within a couple 32nds, I am not cheaping out and only replacing one. Replace two and be done with it and do things the right way.

Out of the total 18k drive on the car, 10k was on winter tires. The dealership and another tire shop confirmed that my tires are very good and I don't need to change all 4 tires. If I were to put a different tire then I have to replace all of it.

I have found the same tire for the front passenger side of the car.

Anyhow, thank you all for the help and insights on this. I am a first-time car owner so not sure about these.

8K on a tire is borderline. If people who sell this to you say you don't need a pair of tires and are recommending buying one, then go with that.
