Good afternoon all...

Over the next few winter months, I will be working on my Stinger and getting it ready for the 2019 competition season.

I am truly greatful for having great sponsors to support this build and am excited to be getting back into this after an over 10 year hiatus. I have been consulting or working for 12v companies over the past decade, just haven’t had platform that I wanted to invest the time into personally.

The goal is to build a 100% stealth setup so that judges judge with thier ears and not with thier eyes.

The system will retain the factory head unit, but every thing post the digital signal to the factory amp will be removed and replaced. It will consist of an OEM digital integration interface, two amps “8 channel and monoblock with built in DSP”, a single sub and three way front stage..

Some of the equipment will be hidden from pictures as that is the working agreement to support an experiment we are playing.

I will post the fusing and Stinger 20 farad cap and wiring install in a few nights as I am almost done with the aluminum mounting plates and wiring.

Everything will be cut to length, covered in woven loom, heat shrunk using the correct color codes and ran cleanly to their perspective locations

Good luck with your project, you may also want to have a look at what @andrew tay is doing to his sound system as well.

Please show us which cable you used to connect to rca and to the CA DAC. I actually have a identical unit lying around. Does the phone and satellite navigation signal still work after doing that?

Nice work thus far. Looking forward to following your build.

@andrew tay, I only used the CA home DAC to test the smaple rate and digital signal, it will be not used in the car.. This connection will go right into a car audio processor with a digital coax input.

The SPDIF over copper wires are pin 20 and 21 on connector A

Dayum...I thought my dynamatting was thorough. Good job!!!

After installing my sub I have rattling inside both fenders, even with the volume low. Will you be doing anything to mitigate that?

Thanks buddy, i plan on stuffing some foam in the cavities.. but unfortunately I can’t diagnose until I experience it myself...

I will keep you posted when I get it up and runing

Subscribed! I'm a huge fan of SQ builds. What speakers are on the front stage? Active crossover I hope?

Main system fuse with custom aluminum bracket, Stinger 20 farad cap with custom aluminum bracket, ground block with custom aluminum bracket. All 0 gauge, flex loomed, ferruled and wire tied.. Using all factory mounting locations.

I circled the Audison integration piece. I have it mounted to the factory amp bracket that I painted black to blend in.

Now off to the sub box and amp rack

Hi was wondering how u got a signal with no ground? There are 3 spdif wires coming from head unit in a grey cable spdif high and low which is pin 20 and 21 but what about ground pin 19 and also what about Mac voice + and minus ? I’m thinking a Ml twk 88 might be needed? Please clarify how u got signal?

This wire list is it for a GT2 with the HK system? Reason I ask is I'm looking to add more bass to mine (removable) and trying to figure out the best way to tap into the factory system for the signal to mono amp for the sub(s) I will be adding.

Nice clean install. i bet that carpet over the sub gets a little flap happy at times. I'm impressed with all you have hidden away.

This is only half of the pinout for the GT2, you need the other connector to get subwoofer speaker wires. I finally replied to the other thread you asked a question in. My apologies on the delay. The full HK pinout is in this post.
Aftermarket Sub Installation Planning / HK Amp Pinout?

Hmmm, Audison. I have an 8.9bit in my Subaru Liberty (Legacy for you guys in the US) to replace the factory McIntosh unit. It's a damned nice piece of kit, I've been really impressed with what Audison do, I may move it over to my Stinger at some stage if I get the chance...
