Body Color Painted Side Reflectors

I noticed on my 2020 there's a little light coming out of the reflector. Is there anything to disconnect?
No, the light is because its see through and its beside the tail light so some light will bleed through.

It's just 3 pressure clips that hold it in place

Here is mine in white , had the reflectors PPF'd to protect the paint

Lol nice rims. Hey are those the E center caps from this site? I ordered a set for my rims as well.

NVM I see its still the star cap with the E badge. I'm going to try just center caps in the rims. Hoping they fit. I couldn't get the plastic star cap painted close enough to the rims.

The guys who powder coated my rims don't paint just powdercoating. Can't complain they did a great job and were quite cheap.
did you use S&R Powder coaters? did mine $275 all 4

Rice Rocket.

Did that include removing, remounting and balancing tires plus putting wheels on the car? If so that was a hell of a deal

buddy of mine is a mech who had removed the tires but we were doing springs and sway bars so car sat there for 2 days, they also delivered the rims from brampton to etobicoke

That's a much better deal than I got mind you I already head the car on winter rims and tires so they had to removed tires, sensors remount and balance them and then swapped the wheels for me at their shop. $500 for everything

They all have that. The bulb is behind the lens so it won’t interfere.

If anyone wants to let go of their federation orange side reflectors let me know. I will pay whatever they currently cost new ($150) unless I can get 9 other federation orange oeners to go in on a group buy with me!.

So, I’ve seen 3 solutions to the huge reflector:

1. Stock, full-length reflectors
2. Decal/wrap over stock, full-length reflectors
3. Painted replacement panels that remove any reflector

But has anyone seen a solution that is, essentially, a painted replacement panel with a reasonable length (5 inches?) rounded reflector at the leading edge?

Better looks and legal/safer.

Thanks!

Considering the painted ones we buy here are original reflectors that have been painted to match the car, I expect if there was enough demand they could partially paint them instead.

I personally don't think it would look better. It might be more legal though. Mind you, I've driven around now with mine for awhile, I'd be shocked if a cop knew that my reflector wasn't to code.

People who generally mod their cars don't care about warranty or whether it's legal.

I can't see how changing the reflector would impact the warranty in any way. I've had the car into Kia three times since I did it, once for sway bars they installed, second time for a rattle in the roof which is warranty covered. They also changed the rotors under warranty as well.

They never said a word to me about it.

I wouldn't have changed the reflectors if it would have impacted the warranty.

I'm saying in general not that the reflector would but in general people who mod their car no matter what the mod is don't normally care about warranty or if it's illegal.

There is probably a legal need for the reflector to be there. Will a cop pull you over, I would be very surprised but if you really pissed off a copy he's gonna find and ticket you for every little thing.

My concern is less about getting pulled over and more about getting hit.

Why give the morons another excuse (besides staring at their phone) to not see me? If I can tone down the stock look, bonus!

Saw a kid on a bike the other day with a flashing forward facing RED light. Much good that will do when a driver rear ends him because he didn't see the bike.

There's probably some federal DOT rule stating that vehicle must have some sort of visibility on the sides from x distance. Most cars either have reflectors or some sort of illumination that's part of the marker/rear taillights.

Yea dot is the main thing that requires them. Same as the rears in the bumper. If the car is off no lights on the shoulder ect... All safety stuff. The color match deletes you can buy still allow light if you look hard enough at them. Especially the the white. I just know from seeing them in person. The stinger logo overlays still show the side marker light and a little reflector but still gives a look of a delete.
