Wtf is that clamp?? I tried to put another hose clamp on instead since I was confused at that point of what kind of “clamp” I was looking at, and removed it without thinking twice. I replaced it with a T-bolt hose clamp and at 3k rpm, blew the drivers side charge pipe right out at that exact fitment location. I read the other discussions about this but thought I’d bring it back to light to see what others have done to fix that situation? I don’t want to wait for that clamp or buy it for like $80. Anyone know of good ways around this or am I stuck to being committed to buying that “clamp” from the dealership?

So I have the BMS intercooler here ready for install on Sunday morning hopefully. Any more context or insight on what you're talking about? I cant remember if I've seen a post about this in the past. Just want to be mentally prepared lol

Yea I was not expecting to run into this but then again expected the unexpected. I’ve been looking for clamps in stores all day today now and won’t have time to get started on CPI today.

Here’s some pics of the area im talking about. It’s on the drivers side

This is part of the clamp hose, I’ve learned it’s a tension clamp and been looking specifically for the tension clamps at that size

For reference I pulled an image from the Kia Website for the specific clamp, it’s #6 and not #7. I had to edit this post since I read somewhere someone wrote #7 but the deal ship mechanic told me it was inverted and the clamp is #6 that I was looking for.

May just pull the trigger and wait if I don’t find an alternative, ganna start on the CPI kit today too but likely car won’t be driving until I get that clamp. Was hoping to see if anyone else found a way around this with other clamps

So just to add on to this, I ended up just ordering the entire hose with the clamp from the Kia dealership. It came out to $160 with tax (I know.). Better safe than sorry and it’ll be here in 2 days so…

During that time I went ahead and installed the CPI with Flex Fuel kit, that was pretty straight forward luckily. I lost one of the tiny JB4 screws that connects the wires to the jb4 so it took about an hour to find a replacement screw that small. Outside of my clumsiness, I would say finding a good route to make it clean was the most difficult, and the strain it takes on your back. Labor intensive is not my line of duty and I commend all the mechanics and blue collar people out there!

So now just waiting for the pipe and clamp to come in 2 days and hopeful by the end of the weekend everything will be complete!

I am having the same issue! Could you please share the part # I want to order the same for mine. Thank you.

My favorite part of doing this install is when I took the stock stuff out and pried and bent the stock clip only to realize it is listed in the destructions that I would need to use it again.... my favorite....

Mine blew off today on the way home playing around. Can I drive it slowly to the dealership or not drive it at all. It's my only transportation and I'm out in the middle of nowhere

So, I am super late compared to when this had occurred for you, but for anyone else I will tell you how I did it.
I took off the entire hose instead of just the intercooler. Because trying to slide it on that clamp was just impossible due to the bending of the hose. I used some silicone lube on the metal and place the awkward tube on a solid surface. I then pressed the adapter hose for the intercooler as hard as I could and then it worked. If I did it this way first, it would've saved me two weeks of finding a solution and the constant blowing off.

1000010483.webpI ended up putting this badass clamp on and it solved the problem. You're right it's not the easiest thing to get back on but lots of pushing and swearing fixed it
