Does any one have any ideas of how to paint the 14” OEM Chrome Stinger emblem black? I know there’s a carbon fiber Stinger emblem on this site, but I’d rather have a matte black one. Thanks.

I actually just used black plasti-dip,sprayed directly onto the script logo, about 5 coats to be sure it sticks to the chrome. Had waited about 5-10 minutes per coat. Then I sprayed a clear coat and gloss coat (amount depends on preference). No issues since and feels smooth to the touch

Cool thank you

Just like any other emblem.
Spray with a plastic primer.
Spray with your preferred exterior-compatible paint.

Pastidip is another option, but it may start to peel off.

I put this on mine:

I've tried all three paint, Plasti Dip and the black carbon look one. I painted one chrome Stinger emblem black and the paint stuck to the backing sheet of the emblem and peeled some of the paint from the emblem when I installed it. I Plasti dipped another chrome one which is on my car now, it went on well and looked great for about a month and a half, now it's starting to peel in a few spots (I only hand wash my car). I also purchased the carbon fiber one but did not like the way it looked on the car, black looks much better IMO. I was able to find a black Stinger emblem on ebay (Front Side Rear Trunk Stinger Lettering Emblem Badge for KIA 2017 - 2018 Stinger 8809589015571 | eBay) it came from Korea and took about 3 weeks to arrive. Looks excellent will install this coming weekend. Thinking about doing clear plasti dip or some sort of clear coat before installing to make it last longer.

I also bought a black and carbon look front K badge and the black is starting to flake on that as well; purchased another one and definitely going to coat that one with some sort of clear protectant before installing. When I waxed the car I avoided the emblems thinking removing the wax may compromise the paint or coating; maybe I should have waxed the emblems twice lol

Any one have any advice for protective coating of emblems?

Looks pretty good. Might put on my white stinger. Thank you for sharing.

Just an FYI but that eBay emblem in black is not an OEM emblem. In anyone cares about that sort of thing...
Correct it is not but it looks better; it comes in one piece instead of two and is slightly smaller but looks much cleaner to me. Perfectly covers the two holes and was a lot easier to install; the adhesive is the thin 3M type not the sticky glue that comes on the OEM ones. This is far better than my last 3 attempts at a black OEM Stinger emblem; I'm very happy and would recommend it.Upload rear.webp

I ended up installing the CF Stinger logo. I’m happy with it so far. Thank you to every one for the help.

Perhaps it's just the angle, but it looks like the 'ger' in Stinger isn't aligned correctly, seems like it droops down a bit.

Looks good, I want to black out my tail lights as well but in my state the back up lights have to be white is that not an issue for you?

I used a level, I think it's the angle or reflection

It looks like I can see at least one of the holes behind the lower right part of the n.
You're right, I can see the hole behind the N and the other hole behind the bottom-right portion of the G. Unfortunately, I'm pretty OCD with certain things and the right half of the Stinger emblem is definitely not aligned.

Agreed, that would bother me to no end. I used a laser level to get mine aligned.
