Black chrome trim discoloration on GT front bumper - Any suggestions on keeping it clean??

Curious if anyone has experienced the discoloration of the chrome around the front grill ?

I wouldn't say I have discoloration exactly but it doesn't look great unless it's just been detailed...

I detailed mine today. The chrome has a blackish purpleish look. Almost like some type of fluid has dried on it. I'll have the dealer check it out. Can't wipe clean.

hey guys try a good "cleaner wax" on the chrome , it'll come back like new !!

Try "cleaner wax" , lots of different brands , works great , just did mine today

.............the chrome on these cars needs to be waxed like the paint . Once you get the chrome neutralized with the cleaner wax , put a top coat of good wax on for added protection . It works great ...................

it just looks so great when its perfect, I don't want to screw it up - it's kinda paint but kinda chrome. but if the wax helps keep it clean I'll give it a shot thanks!

It will look ..........factory , just maintain it regularly and it will perform , the mirrors really look smart when dressed this way !

Yup same idea , get the surface looking good then get the Saran Wrap on it!

My dealer got the tint guys to throw in clear film on the headlamps and all the dark chrome trim, Xpel is the brand and it’s self-healing so no issues from chips or scratches. Best of all, no fingerprints or smudges!

.if that doesnt remove the blemish then its below the surface or the surface has been compromised , ie overbuffed with an orbital etc

Heads up with that - you need to still take care of the PPF with a high quality wax.

Guys take it to KIA. This is their issue-it’s in most Stingers. Replacing mine in a couple of weeks.
