I was driving down the road, got to about 4k RPM and all of the sudden the car shuddered and basically went into limp mode. It was smoking a lot, and running very rough. I had it towed to the dealer.
They just called and said it's a bad fuel injector and the high-pressure fuel pump need to be replaced. Totally covered under warranty, but the bad news is that the HPFP is back-ordered until late-September...

I had those same issues but at different times. You would probably be ok by replacing the fuel injector now and taking your car back till the GDI fuel pump comes in, but the dealer may not want to release your car for liability. I had my ECU replaced as well due to the same issues, but was probably more by precaution.

The same thing happened to my Kia Stinger 2020 with less than 10K miles twice. Highly disappointed with this car im in the process to return it

The very exact thing happened to me my 2021 Kia Stinger. I’m driving on interstate heavy fast moving traffic and the car just starts coughing chocking white smoke stalling in the middle lane with cars wheezing past me in terror fearing for my life and the life of others on the road.. It shut completely off I’m terrified like hell trying to get it to start before a pile up happens I throw on my hazards and kept pushing start after 3 times stalling and start and shutting off I get it to roll to the edge of the interstate with cars still wheezing dangerously close .. towed to kia..covered under warranty but no matter for my life or others .. no offer of a rental car or a loaner and the repair guy at kia gives me a form to fill out and points for me to go online to Kiaenginesettlement.com which was no help it was other kia models in class action lawsuit from a yr or 2 ago… next chapter to follow:

The high pressure fuel pump on my 2018 3.3L failed on Tuesday during the morning rush hour. Called Kia Roadside Assistance to have it towed to my preferred dealership (rather than the dealership that was less than a half mile away). Waited almost 2 hours for the tow (in retrospect, I should have called the VIP line instead). Dealer tells me there's a TSB for the issue, ordered a new pump, and says I should have it back by ealy next week. We'll see if that happens.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
