I feel like the auto sensor on my wipers is going unnecessarily fast for the rain we're receiving-whereas it used to work closer to the cadence/amount of rain we're receiving. Anyone else experienced this and how'd you fix it?

Can be very erratic at times not the best

Mine is also the worst I've seen in any car. It was like this from the beginning.
It's either too fast or too slow. It's almost never able to do a 2sec interval, for example. Even if the rain is very steady. It will either slow down and stop or go the maximum speed.
Plus, it almost never stops when I go through long tunnels.

same here

I had a Jaguar F PACE before, after replacing the windshield the sensor also went crazy. They did a calibration at the dealer and it has been fine since then. I also asked the KIA here if they can calibrate it, nothing. Maybe try to ask another dealer...

Doesn't the manual speed lever also adjust the auto speed? Have you tried dialing that down?

Yep, I noticed the same thing on my '23. Other Hyundai/Kia/Genesis I drove that had similar auto-sensing wipers weren't this aggressive. Really wish they would add a driver-configurable software setting on the speed gain, so I can dial down the aggressiveness. Makes me much prefer the manual intermittent settings on our '19. Yes, I need to re-adjust from time to time, but once set, it stays exactly the same speed.

It definitely seems to have gotten more aggressive over time and turning the dial down to the lowest setting doesn't seem to help much.

Do you have any glass treatment on your windshield? Like rainX or Auquapel?

I have noticed the auto wiper sensativity is definitely affected by the surface tension of the glass at the rain sensor.

The auto rain sensor works best when there is no glass treatment that enhances the water beading characteristics.

None that I'm aware of. Actually thought putting some on might help?
