• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

ok, so Ill see how things go during the next 2 years.
Oh wait a minute, the new Stingers will be out soon, maybe, just maybe ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
As much as I love my Stinger, I don't have enough faith in Kia to purchase another after all the problems and muck around trying to fix them.

You can have problems with any car brand though, Kia just backs theirs with a long warranty unlike other car brands.

Agreed. Just look at the most ‘reliable’ brand Toyota and the issues they are having with their DPFs. Can happen with any brand. But yet the Hilux is still selling like hotcakes. Go figure. Note: Kia doesn’t seem to have any problems with their DPFs.

What's the point in a long warranty when there's issue after issue that don't get repaired? Yes I'm aware there are issues with all car brands, I've owned many in my life. But I've never taken a car in for so many problems that they say they have fixed but haven't (or the default response of "we couldn't repeat the problem " which I'm then able to repeat in minutes). I'm happy for you if that has not been YOUR experience, but no point in trying to dilute these problems with the 7 year warranty argument. From the problems I've had...I see WHY they need a 7 year warranty.

Good on you all if you would buy another. You can sing Kias praises al you like. I won't be joining you. As I said earlier, I love my car. But there are too many issues that shouldn't be occurring and Kia themselves have been horrible for the most part in addressing them adequately.

Now you can all do your typical thing and attack me. I don't give a stuff. Cya!

Not diluting anything but this is exactly what warranty is for, yeah it sucks you have to use your warranty more than most but it is what it is, you got a dud car it happens and its unfortunate. Why would anyone "attack" you? thats just a weird thing to say. Just sell the car and dont look back.

Can somebody give me some guidance .My 6 month old Stinger GT kicks back through the trans as I am slowing down at the traffic lights. It is quite severe until the motor reaches normal temperature. I have had the car at the dealer who has checked the trans operation on their computer and advises that all is normal. It does it in all drive modes and is becoming a pain. This problem has only started recently. I have checked the operating manual to see if there is something in the drive mode settings but can not find anything. I have asked the dealer service dept about the settings, but with no luck.
I have just had mine in for its 80k service. The transmission in the week before the service began to shift harshly. When the dealer service department got the car they quipped that I’d put a ‘shift kit’ in. They drained a small amount of fluid, agreed that there was no damage and reset the shift parameters advising me to allow the transmission to ‘relearn’ the shift patterns and driving style. Transmission has performed with no issue since the reset was performed last Friday.

BB. Thanks for the feedback. It would seem that this is not unique to Kia.

Sorry for sounding a bit dumb but what is a transmission shift kit, how is it fitted. And what is all this about -
reset the shift parameters advising me to allow the transmission to ‘relearn’ the shift patterns and driving style.

Anyone know when the new 2021 Stinger will be available in Auz

It has been available to order since early December, deliveries arriving in Jan-Mar, most dealer have one to look at/test drive.

Guess I am hooked with the Stinger.
Just ordered a new car build 2021 so hopefully it should arrive March time.
Congratulations, you won’t be disappointed.

This will be an improvement on my GT 2020 Stinger which I will be selling as soon as my new one arrives.
Its in Perfect condition with nearly 7000 on the clock, Tints & Tow ball fitted and RED.

why would you sell a basically brand new 2020 stinger just to get a 2021...there is barely any difference.
