• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia Bi-Modal Exhaust Updates

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Exhaust doesn't fit or reach into the pipes? Sorry my mind wouldn't be able to accept that, whether that's standard practised or not:eek:.

I thought when we were on our last run that yours looked like that too. Could be thinking of another car though, it was a while ago.

They look pretty close to being in theres not much of a gap.

Last time i was under the hoist I'm pretty sure the pipes were put in. I know when the Ark was originally installed they were 100% in because I was under the car when he installed it.

Sorry for the slightly stale thread resurrection. Does anyone know if they are still disassembling dashes to install the bimodal exhaust as with the original release or has this been streamlined with updated wiring from the factory? Ripping the dash off a brand new car is a bit irksome.

I'm considering some sort of exhaust upgrade on a new Stinger purchase but might prefer something like the X-Force which is easier to install and can be switched on or off. However, it's complicated by leasing rules which means everything has to be included in the original quote from the dealer so they'd have to agree to install and supply a third party system.

Yes, the procedure hasn't changed. KIA do not put out anything to support this product as it's provided by a manufacturer in Melbourne.
Someone local posted pics of the dash removed in another thread but I can't recall which one.

Having done 1500km now (in 3 weeks), I am hearing annoying rattling sound under/behind the dash, mainly at low speed. Wonder if the dealer buggering around with the dash during the bi-modal install has contributed to that?

Did you first look for huntsman spiders or snakes under the dash first? I’m kidding... but not really.

More than likely , when you see what the install entails you'd almost expect rattles. If it's any consolation my Ark exhaust still vibrates the consul/USB port area.

It's the white tip spider that's also pretty nasty. And the bloody ticks, the ones that gives you limes disease over on the Northern beaches, but wait I hear schh they tried to keep that one quiet. I believe theres been hundreds of cases .
Anyway welcome down whenever you're ready.

I have a slight vibration that comes and goes but it's not overly concerning. Most likely a legacy from when dash was removed and refitted. I've isolated it to the pad directly above the instrument cluster. Applying a bit of forward pressure seems to have made it go away, at least for now.
So much has to be removed to run electrics. Pics courtesy of @Bigbikes

I was talking to my service agent about this exhaust and he said there was a new one in development that you didn’t need to do any dash work to install it.

Let’s hope it’s considerably cheaper given the less work it’ll take to install. $2600 for a noise maker is what put me off getting it. That being said I wish the car had some sort of noise, after seeing the install of the current one it put me off getting it

Still showing $3200 RRP on Kia site, so maybe when that drops it's an indication. Mind you, I think we've seen/heard promises of a redeveloped version quite early on in this thread, so won't hold my breath.

As a matter of interest, I did contact my local dealer who said they would install third party accessories as part of a new car deal, but warned that anything non-standard, especially affecting power, would be used as leverage to refuse a warranty claim (of course, bastards).

Also, as I haven't seen it explicitly mentioned here or in the international threads, I asked X-Force about power gains and they said there was a small gain anecdotally, though they hadn't tested.

As for noise, I personally don’t care that stock stingers are quiet.
