Australia Bi-Modal Exhaust Updates

Hey guys, any chance the aforementioned techniques works for the MY21 cars? I had a quick look through the fuse section of the manual and the only fuse relating to the active variable exhaust is located in the engine fuse box compartment.
For reference, my values are open when the car is off but quickly closes after starting the car. Would like the whole exhaust to be open full time and any drive mode of possible.
Looked in the owners manual that fuse in the engine bay does a oil pressure pump as well so doubt be able to pull that fuse

Hi All - I've recently upgraded from a 2018 Kia Stinger GT to a 2022, and loving it. Hoping that someone can help me understand though, why does the newer stinger sound much quieter, even though they both have a Bi-Modal exhaust? It seems to me that they're different - and if so how would I get back the original sound from the 2018 model?

They don't have the same bi-modal exhaust ( rear mufflers ).
Your 2018 most likely had the Australia only option of bi-modal rear mufflers that look like this ( like I have ).

Then in ~2021 Kia factory fitted the below Bi-Modal mufflers ( which you would have ) and they are nowhere as good as the above for sound and flow.

There are a number of solutions but the easiest is a cat-back system.

If you want to keep your bi-modal mufflers but bump up the sound a little, replace the mid-section ( before these mufflers ).

Many options available but everyone has different tastes and solutions to suit those tastes.

Thanks so much for the answer. I had suspected I was duped by the sales person. I wonder if I should have taken it off.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to perhaps mod the new one. @AusStinger - Is the mid section where resonators go?
Or is there a recommended place where people re-sell items for Stingers? Maybe I could find an original Stinger GT Bi-Modal Exhaust to have fitted.

Thanks again @AusStinger - wonderful to find a community like this!

You can find the fuse for the Bi-Modal valve and before staring the car, remove the fuse which will leave the valve in the open position for a bit more sound.

If you're on Facebook you could join the following group as sometimes things pop up.

KIA Stinger Classifieds Australia (Buy Swap Sell)

K8 ( www.k8stingerstore.com ) is a great seller of Stinger parts but the shipping and exchange rate are killers.

Local sellers: Search Results for “kia stinger” – Dynomotive

IMHO, bang for your buck; KIA STINGER GT 3.3L 2.5" CAT BACK STAINLESS EXHAUST

Yes. When they're open, pull the fuse tap. The valves will then be stuck in that position until you supply power back to the bimodal ECU and valves.
I pulled the plugs up under the quarter panel when the car was cold and valves open thinking this would work as no power is going to the bi modal start the car valves shut with no Power to them , dash light on saying no blind spot monitoring disabled ffs

Obviously pulled the wrong fuses.

Has anyone with a facelifted (MY21+) Stinger replaced the factory bi-model with the older Australian dealer-fit bi-modal?

Mate i have a 2021 and just unplugged the bi modal at the exhaust tip end and the valve stays open permanently

Thanks, going by comments from those who upgraded from a pre-MY21 to an MY21+ they say the original Aussie bi-modal has a deeper note than the MY21+ factory bi-modal. I'd like a deeper exhaust note but would want to retain the ability to make the exhaust louder and softer with the drive mode button, so I want to know if the control cable can just be unplugged from the factory exhaust and plugged into an Aussie bi-modal without any additional electrical work.

Cant see why it wouldn’t work,as long as the the fittings and wiring are the same

I dont know the answer but let me know if you would like some pics of the plug that connects to the bimodal module for reference sake.

I was going to replace mine but I like the way the sound varies with the driving to keep drone away (and it still works even though I have a JUN BL mid section installed). :)

That would be awesome! Thank you!

And just for the sake of reference, this is what they look like.

Awesome! Thanks very much and have a Merry Christmas!

Hi

Read through the thread, lots of useful information.

We have a 2022 GT with the factory Bi-modal exhaust. Looking at ways to get more sound without voiding warranty. Keen on disabling the valves so they are always open. I have checked the fuse boxes in steering column and in the boot, but couldn't see any of the mentioned attachments.

Is the only place to unplug the butterfly valve under the car, near the exhaust tips?

Pic of fuse box in the boot.
