So I, like others, have tried to fix the shimmy you feel going over broken pavement or a flex point on the freeway when taking a turn. I just saw these: Addicted To Quality :: ATQ Automotive Products

Seems like a lot for 4 bolts and some lofty claims. I know nothing about subframe collars but some quick google searching suggests the claims may be accurate. I’d love to hear some educated thoughts on this mod. This mod seems like it won’t impact ride quality like a rear sway bar may. Hence why I am interested. Thx!

There is also this kit from Shark Racing. In theory, what they are claiming is correct, especially as the car ages. We need a guinea pig to do some testing to verify if it will get rid of that shimmy.

I’ll have a set here on Friday. I have zero expectations that it will change the hop while cornering over broken pavement. It’s just taking the 1/4” slop out of the subframes.

This shouldn’t be anyone’s first suspension mod that’s trying to drastically improve handling.

Also sways do not negatively impact ride quality.

Let us know your thoughts! And I’ll agree to disagree about sways ;)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
About to order a set, too. Should stiffen up the subframe and help the alignment.... I hope.

Standing by for review. I'm skeptical, but will trust a DaJackson review on suspension any day!

They have been ordered, if keeps my alignment more solid I’ll be impressed.

I didn’t realize it was this bad on the Stinger. Apparently the Stinger is pretty easy to get outside the settings and has some significant play between the frame and subframe.

I’ll add an image of how far out it was and I haven’t hit anything that I can recall.

Sorry it’s going to be a bit longer. The car was in the shop today for IC and brakes but the collars didn’t show up till this evening.

I wish I would’ve known, mine won’t ship till Wednesday.
Yeah we have been extremely busy with orders, and have fallen behind on getting new products up on the site.

They will be up soon, but hopefully, if anyone else is in the market for them, they will see this post.

Especially since we are the only one in the US that has them in stock as far as I know!

What did they help with the Optima?
They make a pretty substantial difference, just read some of the 23 reviews on our site for the ones we sell for the Optima below:

Stiff Ring Chassis Collars - K5 Optima Store - (Verified Reviews)

I don’t know how to explain but you could feel the difference for sure. Over bumps it did not feel as harsh and just the handling felth smother.
Exactly, it tightens up the chassis and helps to eliminate free play between the subframe & chassis by closing the gap.

Here are some photo examples for the Stiff Ring Chassis Collars we sell for the Optima.
