At (Long) Last ...US Official Pricing

There are a few things I just completely dont understand:
2) 360 camera - This is at most like a few hundred bucks, I dont understand why you would make a 50k car at this point without an option that is available on 30k cars. Make it an option at least.
3) Wireless charging - Not as big a deal to me, but definitely a convenience as the newer iPhones, etc have the capability to use this. That being said, I almost always use my phone for navigation on a mount so dont really care that much.
4) Is it true that the red leather is not Nappa leather?

If #2 is true, it hurts me a bit. it's really helpful to have it.
If #3 is true, it hurts me double.
If #4 is true, It make me frustrated.

There are a few things I just completely dont understand:
1) Literally every review has said that the steering feels a little light and there either should be a stiffer steering option or like a Sport+ mode... seems like feedback they could have taken into account by this point.
2) 360 camera - This is at most like a few hundred bucks, I dont understand why you would make a 50k car at this point without an option that is available on 30k cars. Make it an option at least.

For #1, they can (in theory) adjust that easily with an update at some point. It's just a matter of whether they would bother to do it. They seem mostly focused on extracting the maximum profit from the US market.

For #2, yeah, it makes no sense. Maybe, they just really don't want the vehicle wandering too much into luxury territory for the G70's sake (even though they're different styles of cars). However, I just saw a Ford F150 commercial where the guy had a 360 view AND automatic backup steering. I'm thinking that by the time the 360 feature gets into the Stinger in the US, it'll have long since been old news and not considered as much of a luxury. With the limited view through the rear window, I think this feature would actually be pretty useful in the Stinger. I guess it's a good thing that at least everyone else in the world gets the option to get it.

For #3, I personally can deal without the wireless charging because it didn't appear that our phones would fit in the slot anyway. Mine's big but maybe would still work and my wife has a case that wouldn't fit. This is based on the demo car at the dealer. You know the one that showed all these features that we aren't actually getting and the one that is the same color as the majority of the demo models shown that we can't get either.

Don't know about the Red leather.

I would totally buy your logic about impinging on the G70's territory if it weren't for the fact that the Cadenza has 360, and it's a less expensive Kia that is, I'm guessing, not meant to be as luxurious as the G70. I'm resigned to them yanking these features, but still, it makes no sense at all for a so-called "halo car."

I just realized the GT1 trim doesn't have seat position memory. Gee, I guess it's a good thing my 5 year old Optima has it so my wife and I can swap out driving that on errands. I don't get it Kia, you've already got all the electronics in there to move the seats around, how hard is it to just remember two positions? I totally understand witholding not-so-expensive features to incentivize people to get the higher trims, but this IS one of the higher trims! Hell at these prices in 2017 even the base 2.0t ought to have seat memory.

Are you talking about the passenger seat? All Stinger models have 2 position memory for the driver's seat as far as I have heard.

No I thought the driver's seat didn't have it. Sorry I was just going by the official site that lists "Integrated Memory System" as not being on the GT and GT1 trims under the interior/seats section, only for Nappa Leather. If that's not what that means it's rather misleading.

12 way power driver's seat even in the base 2.0L trim according to this review

Yes they all have 12-way adjustable seats but only the nappa leather gets 16-way adjustable, and the "Integrated Memory System" But if you've heard that they all have 2-position seat memory, I'll just have to assume that's true and Integrated Memory System either refers to something else, or Kia's own website is wrong which at this stage is entirely believable.

I can't imagine integrated memory system meaning anything but the seat, steering wheel and mirror memory positions.
Which I believe only the gt2 gets the power steering wheel adjustment, so I could believe that the memory system is only in the gt2.

Maybe the term "integrated" means more than just the seats? So maybe all models could have seat memory but only the GT2 also does steering wheel and mirrors? I can hope at least.

As slow as most electric seat adjustments are...I'd almost rather have manual seat adjustments if there is no memory seat function.

Just an FYI but the Stinger isn't Kia's halo car. Well, it might be at the moment... But the upcoming K900 replacement is actually the halo car. It's shrinking a bit and will be completely fully loaded with every bit of technology available to Kia...

It looks like "Integrated Memory System (IMS) with 2-position memory for driver's seat, steering wheel and outside mirrors" is standard on everything but the base 2.0T and 3.3T (GT) models:

I have watched several first drives of the base Stinger and I have not seen the memory buttons on the driver's side door. So maybe the Kia site is correct. Only on Premium, GT1 and GT2.

Flagship, maybe. And I did say "so-called": If you enter "Kia's 2018 halo car" in a search engine, you get articles on the Stinger, and a couple of references to the Proceed concept. But yeah, WHEN it finally comes out of camouflage, the K900 will probably be the "ultimate." But that's a year from now, isn't it, and plenty of features may be invented in that time to make it supersede the Stinger, so why should we have to suffer now? ;) (Yes, I use "suffer" kiddingly. I'm actually pretty happy with what the Stinger offers for the price.)

Yes, flagship is probably the better word to use here. I wonder what the difference is between flagship and halo... I'm not sure I know that! :p

Well that directly contradicts their Stinger promotional page with all the images and paint colors, but I assume since it lists so much more actual info that I should trust that one. It's a shame we've gotten to the point that we can't even believe Kia when they directly give us information because they can't figure it out themselves.

Edit: Whoa wait a minute. I had heard that the limited slip differential (The only thing I really want in the GT2 trim but was gonna go for GT1 without it) is listed as being an option on the base 3.3 model but not for the GT1? Why on earth would that be?

Double Edit: God dammit Kia, it also says Sunset Yellow is optional on GT and GT2 but NOT GT1? What the eff?!

I think you basically summarized how much faith you can put into the information KIA is distributing.

yeah I had mentioned the LSD thing earlier. It makes no sense at all, I'm hoping it's just an error. As a performance enthusiast, not having a 360 camera is almost meaningless. Not having an LSD though is a deal breaker. If they intend for this to be a true GT, an LSD should be standard.
