I love my Stinger, I love it so much I'm keeping the car. I have two options, keep my 2018 3.3TT with 30k miles as my hobby car and buy something good on gas like an HR-V for a city commuter. Or trade my 2018 for a Tribute and in 5 years turn that into my garage car. The Tribute would have to be a DD for 5 years before becoming a garage queen. I'm torn.

I think either way is a win...Im not sure how much they will offer for your 2018. I think that would be the deciding factor for me..and the interest rate right now is complete garbage. I have 0% on my 2019,going from that to 3.9% would be foolish in my mind. And the tribute isnt much of an upgrade in my eyes..and I hate the matte finish.
But I envy your ability to actually decide.....lol

What trim level is your 18?

keep your matchless gt1. why would a gamble on a different vehicle work out necessarily when there isn't a thing about your current ride that you would change?

I mostly just like the idea of ending up with a numbered limited model like the tribute as a long term hobby car, which is why I'm considering the move. I've also enjoyed daily driving the car for the most part.

If it is a hobby car (ie: something you change), don't get the Tribute. If you want a garage queen, then get the limited model. My two cents.

Yikes for a quick minute i thought we were discussing a Mazda Tribute here.
Doh...

Wow 2018 and only 30k miles on it.

Idk if I would want to upgrade and deal with a high interest car payment.

I have the GT2 with all the bells and whistles. Some of them are nice to have and others I don’t even use. Like all of the safety features.

You get a quote already on trade in value? It would be nice if you can get 70-80% of what you paid. The dealer wouldn’t give you that but carmax or something similar would.

Did Canada get the sunset yellow, gts, indigo blue special edition or the Scorpion?

I'm pretty sure the sunset yellow had 400 but the paint was questionable. GTS only had 800 made, indigo blue special edition was 500 I think? Which would make those models "rarer" potentially? Also those two had the LSD. Not sure how many Scorpions were made and now we have the grand tourer which has some of the Scorpion bits minus the spoiler and has suede seats and dash.

Pointless... no power upgrade or features. Just some tacked on little tribute memorabilia. Also you're low in miles so just keep it. The interest rate is asinine especially in Canada.

Yeah, it really only leaves the garage a couple times a week so it's still very low mileage. The MSRP was 44,500 CAD +fees when I bought the car. The trade in is about 27,000 CAD right now so about 65% back. Not bad but not amazing.

Yeah we got all except Indigio Blue. The Scorpion is a nice package for sure but something about the matte paint and the chestnut brown leather on the tribute has me hot and bothered. I need to resist it because I know deep down the car I have is fine and I should just keep it.

Yeah the interest rates were 0.99% a couple years back buy are around 4.99% right now, although if you trade in a Kia on a Kia they drop it to 3.99%.

That doesn't seem right. I sold my gt2 (13k in repair claim) 2018 with 82k kms on the dash for alot more (few months back)

I would go private if you were to sell.

The stealerships here in NS are brutal for trade ins......they give you pennies on the dollar every time.
I think its because they are all owned by the same 2 people.
I bought mine from Forbes in New Minas because I had a friend there and he hooked me up.

I'd vote for keeping your 2018 car. Might be pretty difficult to even find a Tribute edition, and even if you do you'll probably be facing a dealer markup. In the end you'll end up spending a lot of money to get basically the same driving experience you have now.
