Anyone upgraded their infotainment to 10"?

The screen has an interesting connector that I have to buy with the whole console harness.

4pins (Lvds I guess) + RF connector (BT? WiFi?)
I don't know where the video signal comes from yet...
Lmk if you figure out the swap. If it isn’t ridiculous, I might be doing it as well if you are successful.

Looking to make your Stinger unique? Here's the place to do it...
If you want cluster + blindspot cameras swap, then you need at least:
- full harness
- new cluster
- new steering wheel multiswitch
- most probably the steering wheel as well
- most probably the side mirrors and all the harnesses related to them (door harness)
All the part numbers for the items mentioned above and all the wiring harnesses are different.
I just need the new radio + screen, and I will be satisfied.

They changed the dash slightly in the newer models, will that need to be changed as well?

Hi everyone,

Was curious to see if anyone has successfully upgraded their infotainment screen and associated hardware from the 2019-2021 8" to the 2022+ version's 10.25"?

I would guess that, if it's possible, it would require at least the following:
  • New screen and mounting hardware
  • New screen base plate (assuming it would fit in the previous version's layout)
  • Possibly new radio / head unit, assuming that the video output is not interchangeable
  • Any required changes in wiring harnesses between the two versions

Anyone looked at the part numbers needed, or taken the dash apart on their 2022 Stinger and take photos?

Wow, you have done a lot of mods to your Stinger. It must look amazing. :)

For sure the screen mounting component, the hangers have different diameter and the top decor that covers the screen base (piano Black on the new version).
The connectors have different wiring, screen needs a coaxial cable with a plug that I can't find (it's not the same diameter as FAKRAs in the Head unit).

I can't go any further unless I wake up the screen, but no idea what signal is needed to do so. When +12V is connected, it uses just 0.06A, so it's in standby mode.

Curious did you have any success? I know its only been a couple weeks just curious cause this is a topic that would interest a lot of base GT stinger owners.

Just do the 7" to 8" swap. That's what I did for my base gt. Not would I would call easy but easier then buying all the stuff that was listed above. Plus, it's plug and play.

I’m interested in know if this was a success too. Would love to mod replace my unit with the larger unit.

No luck so far, I'm reaching some people who may help me finish the work.

Seeing how many owners have posted lately about their 8" screen delaminating (typical from upper right hand corner, I'll gladly keep my 7" with external bezel. Yeah it isn't the nicest looking rig, but far less unlikely to suffer similar fate. It does the basic stuff I need a screen for, nothing fancy. These days, 95% of the time, I have it on Android Auto, and the new Coolwalk works quite well on the 7".

I just recently had a '19 CX-9 that had the exact same screen delamination (same upper right had corner too). Luckily, it was 1/2yr or so before warranty expired, so it was dealer changed no-charge. 8 months later, I would've been up **** creek.

I guess I hadn't heard of that issue. I wanted nav so it just made sense to do the swap, only cost me $500 for everything at the time. Well, the $500 and a long, hot, sweaty, stressful day to install everything when it was 95 degrees and humid.

I still have the 7" one but it's only good as a paper weight cuz if somebody is having issues with there's I'm guessing they'd just swap to the better 8" one. I probably wouldn't hate the 7" screen so bad had I not test drove the gt2 and gt1 before I went the gt route. After seeing those screens, I had to make the switch.

If I wanted the 3.3T, I would've gone with the GT, for no other reason than so I don't have the sunroof. That is apparently another problem area for Stinger/G70. I lost count of how many reports of them spontaneously exploded/cracked just rolling down the highway.

As for the 8", our G70 comes with it, While the integrated bezel looks a lot more sleek, it really doesn't offer anything I can't live without. With Android Auto, I don't really miss many of the higher trims' built-in features, like GPS nav. Anyhow, it's good that you kept the 7" screen. It's good for a backup... just in case you need it.

Sorry for ruining the party, but could you please stop talking about pros and cons of 7" or 8" screens?
If you don't want to disassemble your dash, stop reading this thread.
This topic is about 10" screen swap, I don't care who wants what.

I would like to receive a constructive feedback or help, wiring schemas, ideas, as my dash is disassembled to pieces for a few weeks already, not a stupid quarrels.
