Hi everyone,

Was curious to see if anyone has successfully upgraded their infotainment screen and associated hardware from the 2019-2021 8" to the 2022+ version's 10.25"?

I would guess that, if it's possible, it would require at least the following:
  • New screen and mounting hardware
  • New screen base plate (assuming it would fit in the previous version's layout)
  • Possibly new radio / head unit, assuming that the video output is not interchangeable
  • Any required changes in wiring harnesses between the two versions

Anyone looked at the part numbers needed, or taken the dash apart on their 2022 Stinger and take photos?

Looking to make your Stinger unique? Here's the place to do it...
supposedly someone has done it in korea however haven't seen it myself

there are like 2 screens floating around ebay right now, this one is mislabeled but appears to be the 10"
same seller also has the radio but no trim piece from when i asked

when i was looking into it, i also noticed that in the photos it looks like it doesn't use the same connectors

looks like maybe 1 connector?
versus all older models have 3 connectors

Its an expensive upgrade but in theory there is nothing stopping anyone from doing it. its just that nobody wants to spend the money and be the person to find out that its not possible for some reason or another.

This bigger screen along with the blind spot cameras are the only new features I like about the refreshed Stinger. I also hoped there were more people who have done this mod but I guess no one really knows the complexity of doing it. It's a shame as tutorials have been made for swapping out the new tail lights but nothing on this. I wonder if this screen is even offered as a part to sell by Hyundai Mobis. Usually those Korean ebay sellers would be able to get their hands on them if it was available.

the upgraded infotainment has only been out really for one model year, at least, stateside anyway. That's why it has not been attempted. If someone wanted to try it at a lower cost, they would need access to both an 18-21 AND a 22+ with both owners being willing to tear into their car and mess around with things. I know plenty of pre-refresh owners that would be willing to do it, but the post-facelift owners are still in the honeymoon phase and don't want anyone messing with their cars yet.

This just seems like a lot of work and expense for two inches.
Its more than that. after seeing one in person, the 10 inch screen is sleeker, higher resolution, and looks WAY better in the car than the 8 inch screen does, as well as it literally gives you more visibility because the total height is actually lower than the 8/7 inch screens.

Yes, but I would've expected the Korean owners to have made an attempt if it was feasible by now. The first video I saw of the new tail lights on the 1st gen Stinger was a Korean video, and that was right when the refreshed Stinger was released. The Korean modding scene is just as strong as in the US, and they would have easier access to OEM parts directly from Hyundai Mobis (but I don't think anyone knows for sure if this 10" screen is offered as an OEM product). So it's not necessarily a situation where one has to rip out the 10" screen from a refreshed Stinger to see if it works. If this screen was offered as an OEM, surely we would've seen more attempts at this mod by now.

Regardless of what you were told, size matters.

It is offered as an OEM replacement part. It would have to be if something out there went wrong with one of them. It may not necessarily be offered to the public yet, but im sure if you had the part number, you could roll up to any dealer and place the order, however as with the other screen upgrade, Im sure you would have to replace the bottom half of the radio as well.

For sure, whatever it costs would still be inferior to one of the best aftermarket options from Pioneer, Kenwood, or Alpine.

Unfortunately, aftermarket is not possible with this car without making a custom dash. Also expensive and time-consuming.

I also think you'll need to do a firmware update, basically tricking the system to think you're on the refreshed Stinger so that your menu layout will look like that of the refreshed Stinger (the older stinger software has a different version number than the newer one). Much like the new tail lights, some modifications would need to be made to retrofit it. Unfortunately, it does sound more complicated to do.

Some say it's a lot of work to do for "perceived" minimal output. I say that to myself all the time whenever I see people pimping out their interior with carbon fiber parts that have absolutely no function, just pleasing on the eyes. Shit, I've caught the same modding bug thanks to these forums. I say just do whatever floats your boat.

not sure why people are asking about the part numbers when i posted that in the first response
part number for the screen: 96525-j5aa0fhv

super overpriced to buy new but found all the parts related here:

looks like it uses a specific wiring connector which is fairly pricey but available:

but here's some more details i've found in the recent days

apparently this youtuber did it? all in korean so really hard to navigate the channel but no luck finding such video

was mentioned in this korean forum:

back of a 2022 radio:

back of 2018-2021 radio:

so until someone dismantles their 2022, it looks like there's actually a few wires that are different
not a simple screen + radio + bezel swap like going from the 7" -> 8"

Simple? You call that swap simple? I swapped in the 8" screen and nav head unit into my base gt. In no way would I call that simple. I guess it's simple in the fact that it's all plug and play but all that work just to get to the plug and play was not fun at all. Oh and don't even get me started on the tail light swap :(

Still in the process of trying to figure out why the hell the tail light bar doesn't wanna go in nice and easy like the YouTube video. Everything looks soooooo easy on YouTube.

This swap is not simple.
I'm in progress of doing it.
The connection between head unit and screen goes through the main wiring...

The screen has an interesting connector that I have to buy with the whole console harness.

4pins (Lvds I guess) + RF connector (BT? WiFi?)
I don't know where the video signal comes from yet...

i have the 2018 GT2 with the 8" infotainment + HUD

really thinking about replacing the infotainment to the 10.25"

and i said to my self if i'm going this far i should also replace the gauge cluster ( to have the blind spot camera) and installing the ambient lighting system ( our region dealer never import ambient lighting versions) since all this features handled by the head/radio unit.

i didn't like the refreshed 2021+ model so not interested to swap my car with the newer one

just needing the features mentioned above.

i am keeping a close eye on this thread to map my way through the process.

thank all.
