Seeking How To Anyone know how to ret rid of door panel scratches?

I say wear them with pride:D shxt happens. As someone said put the foam type protector over the top. I think Sal sells it.

I think those foam protectors are ugly as heck. Rather wear them with pride. Did not hurt to ask other Stinger enthusiasts their opinion though!

Very true, those protectors are hideous looking.

If they're my scratches I'm irked but if they're from the other three well it goes in the never to be forgotten files:laugh::rofl:

Did you try ky? Rub it in real slow. Perhaps some Marvin Gaye in the background.

let us know.
I'd be too worried I'd be looking over my shoulder concerned my Father was creeping up:D:whistle:

I would but (1) it’s dark outside and (2) I didn’t take a before pic so the after wouldn’t mean much. I found some scuffs on my wife’s side on the lower door and tried it and they disappeared.

Like people who put those god-awful "bras" on their car so the next owner could have fewer stone chips while they live with an abomination for years.

Hi,

It seems like I am inadvertently scratching the door panel with my shoe toe when I exit the car. See the attached image.

I tried using a magic eraser. However, nothing changed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

The solution is a heat gun and a (if necessary) a grain pad. But for scratches like that a grain pad shouldn’t be necessary IMO. This repair requires experience. Go to a junk yard and pickup a trash door panel to practice on if you’re interested in attempting to do it yourself. Very easy to mess up. I would recommend you get this for your size 17 feet:
Convoy Door Cover Set for KIA Stinger Gray Felt or Carbon Fabric for sale online | eBay

@Revvdmedia here’s your industry secret. example only, I have not looked into if KIA’s texture is proprietary (doubtful)
SEM 70022 Interior Graining Pad https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000PL07J8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_srclEbTS7YPCP

I have seen those kits but I'm hesitant to recommend, I could see that going horribly wrong in inexperienced hands. Just look how many people here have wrecked their paint doing badge removals.

As promised, I tried the 303 Protectant spray on the damage I posted. In short, it looks a better! I attached a new before picture to try to show it under the same lighting as the after picture. Note, the original before picture in my first post was with an open garage in daylight. The new before and after picture is a closed garage with light on and camera flash.

As you can see, there is improvement. Certainly not perfect, but much better! Note, I did try to wipe with water a few days earlier to get some of it out. However, there was zero change. Therefore, these pictures show what the product is doing and not the towel.

I will probably post another picture in day light to show how it would look normally.

If anyone has the same sort of damage I have and tests this product or other similar product show your results for the thread!

You could add a black leather look vinyl segment (so it matches the door finish ) along the door bottom to prevent it from getting worse... the vinyl is inexpensive, easy to work with and can be removed easily, and a new segment reapplied once it gets too scuffed

i've used Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. don't need a lot of pressure. as long as the scuffs are superficial and not too deep they'll be gone in moments and very cheap too.

Edit: I added two images showing the before/after applying 303 Protectant based on someone's suggestion. It seems to have worked a bit!

On the hard plastic surfaces with scratches like that you can use a heat gun. Heat with wide and continuous motion gradually bringing up the temp. As it gets warmer you will notice the scuff going away. Stop at this point and allow to cool. Repeat if necessary until gone. As the plastic is warm DO NOT TOUCH... you will not like the results.

Use heat gun moving back and forth will melt scratch into itself.
