Anyone have issues with vinyl wrap over dark chrome?

I went to a shop yesterday and asked about doing a chrome delete. He told me they don't do that on stingers anymore because for some reason the wrap buckles up and won't stay smooth over it. Anyone have experience with this? How long has yours lasted ? I'd really like to black out the trim around the grill as well.

Had mine on for 4 years.. still perfect the day I traded the car for a new version.

Same I have the window trim and mirrors wrapped, almost 2 years. Still looks new.

Not mine. Did have some extra shrinkage but that was my first DIY try on moldings…
