I took my car in to get the film coating as well as Windows tinted couple weeks ago. Had to take it back for some touch ups. When I picked up my car I was just about to make a right turn out of the parking lot when I looked left to check for traffic and notice a hole on the top of the indoor panel in the grey portion just above the door handle inside the car. I immediately turned back in and brought it to there attention. Of course they said it was there when dropped off, which is BS. They had a picture to prove. Again BS. Can be taken after the fact. I have had the car for 4weeks, no need to clean inside yet or apply protectant to interior. If I rest my hand on the window ledge when open my fingers, wrist come no where near the hole. I asked to see the tools they use and I guarantee it was the squeegee they use that did it. The penetration of the hole and pushing up of material indicates a motion from centre to outer edge of window which would be fine when removing moisture under film during application. I'm still waiting to hear back on what they are going to do even though they deny they did it, so looking for solutions if I have to fix myself.

Is that the top of the door panel? You could take it off and push it flush from the inside and use something to hold the hole closed. Though it'll be virtually invisible to most people you'll always notice it.

Another option is just replacing the entire panel. That's what the dealership will have to do to fix it the right way. If they refuse to fix it you can buy a new panel for a couple hundred bucks. They're super easy to remove/install.

Further to Kamauxx's comment, you can get vinyl repair glue / kits, removing the panel and pushing it out then a drop of repair glue to seal it up.

But really the shop should be replacing the panel... that is really the right answer

So i went in to get it fixed. Not happy as I now have a shinny portion on my vinyl that i will forever notice. Time to get the GM of the dealer involved.

Better than a hole. And the shiny will fade. Really, first world problems. :P

Having it brought back to original condition is better than a hole or a shinny spot. Get one of your buddies to pock a hole, then get it fixed so its noticeable and let me know how you feel.

So after 3 weeks I'm finally getting the door panel replaced, courtesy of the Tint Shop that damaged it. The initial attempt at fixing was a joke, and they realty passed me of when they tried to tell me it was a cigarette burn. Problem is I don't smoke. I asked them to see video of my car in the bay being worked on. They said they don't have a camera in that bay, so I asked for a time stamp picture of my car being moved from the spot I parked it that morning, when it went into the bay to be worked on. After 3 requests I have yet to get one. Can only assume that's why the door panel is being replaced. I guess the GM saw that my car went in alot earlier than the 12:24pm picture they took.

Good that they are replacing the panel but honestly the fix was pretty good and I personally would've been satisfied with that but if you weren't good on you for staying on them until you were happy with the fix.

Trust me you wouldn't be happy with the fix if it was your car. I didn't pay $50k for some one to fk it up and do a half ass fix. Now it's going to cost them $4k to fix.

Completely agree.

They're paying $4k for a door panel? Tell them you've found them a 25% discount or give me their information. I'll sell them one for $3k with free shipping!

$2800 was what I was quoted for the part. Then you have taxes and install. Looks like the dealer gave them a discount and only charged $2200k. So with labour and taxes it was $2500CDN. I did get to keep the old panel. Think I'll put it up for sale. Other than minor flaw, its in mint shape.

That's nuts! Those things are on auto parts websites for a couple hundred bucks. Dealership mark-up I guess.

Got a link. OEM tends to be more. Knock offs less for sure.

I don't think anyone would make knockoff door panels for a Stinger. It's not really a hot ticket item.

Here's a couple, one new for $325 one used for $165.
