Is that moisture there in the mornings? I would say it'd have to do with temperature variations. Like the panel cools off quickly but the weld/glue/contact points of the panel doesn't. That's how I've seen it on metallic panels, anyway. The moisture cools off more quickly on the thinner portions.
Can someone volunteer to take apart their entire trunk lid so we can get to the bottom of this? Or just cut a slot in the top to slide their phone in to take photos.

Yes to the above. The 2015+ Ford Mustangs took advantage of this and stamped a pony under the hood, it was supposed to show up in the mornings when there is condensation. Apparently it was a thing, but I never managed to see it on mine when I owned it.
